We are looking for an Design Director for to spearhead the Firms growth in our Nashville, TN and Memphis, TN offices. This individual will play a key role in the expansion of our infrastructure practice, serving as a growth engine for our multidisciplinary operation. In this role you will have the opportunity to build and lead a cross-functional team with the backing of executive leadership and an exciting diverse, high-profile regional portfolio.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President of our Transportation business, the role of Design Director is a senior leadership position responsible for managing and growing our business and our reputation in the Nashville, TN and Memphis, TN areas. This senior level role includes determining and delivering existing projects and programs, client engagement as well as developing the business development strategy and assuming the responsibility for generating new business, while building our proposition and our capability within the market. You will assume full responsibility for P&L and for the quality of our delivery within the Tennessee market.

- Ensuring the team within the business unit is effectively structured, engaged and led. We are looking for someone who is an inspirational leader.
- Building strong relationships with clients and cross-functional team members. We are looking for someone who can quickly establish trust with clients, industry partners and colleagues and build a One TRC ethos.
- Securing business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross- selling opportunities regionally and globally. We are looking for someone who can leverage the strengths of the TRC enterprise.
- Leading the best team in the Tennessee market so that we are recognized as the employer of choice. This will include identifying, attracting, retaining, and developing key talent to support you and the business.
- Identifying and managing risks effectively. We are looking for someone who has a strong commercial acumen.
- Create budgets, staffing plans, and maintain them on both the project and regional levels.
- Manage Resource Allocation in conjunction with other regions.
- Leads by example, demonstrating the attitudes and behaviors expected from others.
Key Accountabilities
- Meeting assigned KPIs.
- Responsible for the commercial performance of projects, key project staff assignments and initiatives, and managing staff utilization.
- Responsible for developing new clients and support existing client relationships.
- Ensure timely preparation, coordination, and review of proposals, schedules, and budget estimates for client activities and pursuits.
- Ensure proper administration of business practice policies and procedures,, salary planning, employee development, and staff performance evaluations..
- Ensure regular contact with clients and proactively address any client concerns.
- Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
- Lead, develop, and foster an innovative and collaborative work environment.
- Leadership with onboarding and training of new staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering (Professional Engineer certification (P.E.) in Tennessee is REQUIRED).
- Ten or more years of experience in the management of a staff of Project managers, engineers, with profit and loss accountability.
- Demonstrated ability to guide, lead and develop internal teams to high performance levels, while offering a strong point of focus for the business.
- Through gravitas and experience, an ability to influence clients at the highest level.
- Natural intelligence and a strategic mind solutions-focused.
- An established active network through personal contacts, professional bodies, charities, and other industry groups.
- Collaborative approach with internal stakeholders at all levels, demonstrating a one business mindset.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Companys annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range:
