Position: Mechanical Design Drafter

Pay Rate: $22.00 - $28.00 /hourly

Location: Ceres, CA

Schedule: Monday- Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Drafter to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and specifications for mechanical components and assemblies. The Mechanical Design Drafter will collaborate with engineers and designers to develop innovative solutions and ensure that designs meet industry standards and client requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Designs change parts sets for new equipment and existing equipment in the field.
Provides drafting support for engineering projects.
Employs engineering disciplines that promote design for manufacturability and assembly.
Pursues excellence using continuous improvement processes and programs.
Takes an active role in the development of automatic change parts models.
Maintains dependable and accurate BOM’s, drawings and machine files.
Maintains, organizes, and manages change parts library, design handbooks, machine files and manuals.
Maintains effective communication and cooperation between Engineering, Sales, and Production.
Independently manages and completes work according to B & H design guidelines.
Take part in assembling and setting-up change parts on machines for testing.
Engages with document control department and SOP’s.
Engages in QC and inspects machine components.
Creates prints, dxf or pdf files for other departments upon request.
Trains, mentors, and delegates work to Junior Mechanical Design Drafters.
Trains, mentors, and delegates work to Junior Mechanical Design Drafters.
Other duties as assigned.

Education: Associate Degree in mechanical drafting

Qualifications:

Strong understanding of mechanical principles and engineering concepts
Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and high-quality drawings
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
2+ years of experience in mechanical drafting or a related field is preferred
