Compensation range: $74,627K - $82,627K/Annually

Position Summary:

Location: North Bay, South Bay, Oakland, Santa Clara and/or San Franscisco (on-site)

Hours: Day shift, Monday - Friday

This is an intermediate level design consultant position. Works both independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners to develop creative interior space solutions to meet customer needs. Includes a high degree of customer engagement, creative decision making, non-linear decision making and autonomous project ownership. Responsible for design discovery, co-creation, design validation and documentation. Involved in design projects and related tasks from inception to final installation.

Responsibilities:
Distill project information.
Conduct product research and contact vendors for pricing and information.
Engage with customer to gather project information (surveys, interviews, data collection, observations) and to uncover customer challenges.
Participate in design discovery and co-creation sessions with project stakeholders.
Assist with creative engagements and workshops.
Perform field measurements and inventory product.
Specify furniture and finishes required per final layouts.
Produce and present design concepts to customers.
Validate design concepts and finalize design development.
Generate, organize, and maintain CAD/CET files.
Produce furniture block plans, space plans, finish palettes, furniture specification, and installation drawings; create, revise, and plot design drawings.
Develop validation packages and spreadsheets.
Estimate budgetary hours and manage and monitor project hours.
Prepare design budgets and design proposals.
Responsible for individual tasks and duties as well as overall project results and outcomes, including shaping the customer experience.
React to customer needs and expectations in developing working relationships.
Attend industry events and peer networking opportunities.
Membership in industry professional organizations recommended.
Track and manage time entries daily.


Qualifications:


Education/Experience
Bachelors Degree in Interior or Architectural Design, Associate Arts degree or equivalent from a two year college will be considered, with at least 3 years related design experience. Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) or National Architecture Board (NAB) accreditation preferred. Prior experience with system furniture products a plus. One or more professional certifications encouraged: NCIDQ, CID, LEED AP, WELL AP, etc.

Working knowledge of commercial furniture products and systems furnishings.
Working knowledge of ancillary, residential furnishings, and dcor.
Working proficiency in softwares: AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office. CET Designer, 20/20 CAP, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign desired.
Working ability to apply Interior Design principles, to include texture, color, form, function, materiality balance, rhythm, repetition, proximity, symmetry, biophilia, cognition and perception.
Working understanding of building codes, regulations, ADA.
Ability to apply commercial furniture products and systems furnishings knowledge.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
Ability to draw/sketch by hand.
Exceptional customer service skills with ability to provide solutions to client needs.
Complex reading and writing skills, basic math skills, judgement/decision making.


Physical Requirements
Seeing, color perception, hearing/listening, clear speech, hand and finger dexterity, and ability to move distances within and between warehouses/offices, ability to get to project sites.
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
Judgement/decision making, analysis/comprehension


Working Environment
Generally, works in an office environment with moderate noise. Nature of work may require time spent out of the office at client location or other One Workplace offices. Reliable access to transportation required. Periodically works outside and may work around moving objects, dust, and dirt.
