Were on the lookout for a talented and passionate Content Writer and Strategist who understand Copilot's voice, personality and values, creating copy that amplifies this in product and marketing. We're looking for someone who will work closely with the personality team and primarily influencing brand, product and marketing copy. Our newly formed organization, Microsoft AI (MAI), focuses on Copilot and other consumer AI products and research. The wider team is responsible for Copilot, Bing, Edge, and generative AI research, while the Web Engineering team is responsible for leading and building the core experience of Copilot on the web, collaborating closely with our Product Management, Engineering and AI Research teams. Responsibilities Develop and define editorial judgment and data-driven insights/feedback loops to plan and maintain content across different areas (e.g., for a content set, reviewing, improving, editing, or removing content; for a design review, reviewing and critiquing interaction design and user-experience [UX] text). Drive content approval and review process with partners across the organization and develop the language for Copilot, the core of the product. Drive building world-class AI applications that will delight consumers across Copilot, Edge, Bing, Windows and Mobile. Own a product writing area and be responsible for understanding user needs and behaviors, defining product requirements, managing end-to-end product development, launches and iterations. Find a path to get things done despite roadblocks to get your work into the hands of users quickly and iteratively. Enjoy working in a fast-paced, design-driven, product development cycle. Translate business goals into strategy, user experience and technical requirements in close collaboration with UX designers and AI model training teams. Define goals and performance indicators, set up and oversee experiments, measure success with data and research. Collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to build exceptional consumer-grade applications. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Humanities, Digital Communications, UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field AND 6 years experience working in product or service design, copywriting, technical writing, writing (e.g. for marketing, advertising, e-commerce), brand design, or brand marketing OR Master's Degree in Arts, Humanities, Digital Communications, UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field AND 4 years experience working in product or service design OR equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications: 5 years' experience of demonstrated growth in writing or content design. Demonstrated experience with distilling down complex content into simple, cohesive material in a consumer-first language. Ability to write language that is succinct and with personality. Experience in driving and delivering a brand voice and tone guide that ensures quality, trust, and coherence across many channels. Current portfolio with clear case studies of writing craft for a consumer-first audience. Examples can also include personal writing to demonstrate writing with personality and wit. Experience collaborating with product designers, marketing, legal, and compliance teams to align content to business and customer needs. Experience demonstrated in portfolio or personal project of Prompt engineering or understanding/mastery of writing for LLMs. Multi/Bilingual or experience in working on a global app. Content Design IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
