PRIMARY FUNCTION
This role is tasked with developing design expertise while transitioning from little to no professional experience to performing design tasks autonomously. This role includes learning advanced Revit functionalities, contributing to project design processes, and ultimately learning how to manage peers and effectively delegate tasks. This person will collaborate with team members to ensure design accuracy and adherence to project requirements, fostering a supportive environment for knowledge sharing and skill development. The person in this role will work under the lead designer to prepare technology systems design from schematic all the way through construction administration.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIESPrimarily working in Revit, modeling components and systems based on redlines from a project lead.Execute project setups in RevitSupport the delivery of Information technology, electronic safety and security, and audio-visual system projects from planning stages to completion under the supervision of the Lead Designer/Engineer.Observe BICSI, AVIXA, and ASIS standards and industry best practices in design and product utilization.Develop cabinet layouts, equipment rack elevations and jack-field layouts, etc.Participate in mentorship relationships with senior engineers to understand the "how" and "why" of engineering for the built environmentAble to autonomously implement delegated design tasksAssist with required code research for project assignmentsDeveloping the Table of Contents for specificationsChecking own work for graphical issues to resolve prior to deliverable issuance.Attend client meetings alongside the project designer/lead to collaborate on project requirementsWorking in different sectors to gain experience as a generalistOther assignments as directed by the project team or supervisorSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in directly related field preferred.Level of experience from newly graduated to five yearsAbility to work virtually and communicate efficiently across geographies with multiple project teams.Written and verbal communication skills commensurate with the position required.Strong organizational skillsExperience with AutoCAD and Revit preferredDetail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and curious personalities preferred.Ability to work well with others under deadline situations requiredA commitment to the principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.A desire to work at an organization where growth and positive impact is crucial.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Capable of traveling to and from project sites to attend client, project, and construction meetingsAbility to access existing and new project sites for the purposes of project observation, investigation, and evaluation.Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes.Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
