Job Description
JOB TITLE: GRAPHIC ARTIST
LOCATION: OPPORTUNITY CENTER- EASTERSEALS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a high school or equivalent. Certification in graphic design or at least 5 years’ experience graphic design in a similar print facility experience. This individual will use the computer to complete customer requirements.
SPECIFIC DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- The Graphic Artist will be responsible for the production of high-quality artwork, including design, layout, and proofing of artwork for both printed and digital marketing.
- Work with customers to define and design print art to meet their needs and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Work with Print Shop Manager to help set orders for a productive work flow.
- Follow through with printers to ensure clarity of design work, quality control and to meet deadline schedule.
- Communicate revisions, progress of production, and completion information to customer and print shop manager.
- Assist with client support as needed during production runs.
- Ensure that all orders are completed and shipped in a timely manner. Proof all work for quality to ensure superior workmanship.
- Properly write invoices associated with individual orders.
- Ensure the security and safety of print shop operations.
- Responsible for placing orders, receiving inventory and pricing job quotes.
- Rotation of screen-printing orders throughout graphic artists.
- Demonstrate acceptable printing and screen printing with cleanliness in the workspace.
- Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor.
PHYSICAL EXPECTATIONS
All staff should have ability to read written materials and to communicate effectively with other staff, clients and any work service employees. Have adequate body mobility to perform job tasks.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated experience with industry standard graphic design applications, preferably Adobe Creative Suite's Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Ability to take direction, communicate feedback in fast-paced environment
- Some Experience in Live Production Atmosphere Preferred
- Attention to Detail
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work on short notice
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills – Must work well with others at all levels of organization
- Proven ability to take initiative
