We are Ad Hock. Visa's internal creative agency. Just as Visa founder Dee Hock revolutionized the way we pay, Ad Hock is taking a new approach to the internal creative team by developing a fully functional advertising agency in-house. We create high-visibility content for Visa AND our client partners to support every layer of the funnel starting with brand awareness. Approximately 25% of our efforts support Visa’s core brand and sponsorships. The other 75% of our work is dedicated to supporting Visa’s partners and clients as an external creative agency. This is where you’ll step in!

Our agency is rapidly expanding, and we’re looking for a Creative Strategist specializing in Direct Responseto build and lead a new team that will add lifecycle and direct response marketing to our portfolio of offerings. This role will lead a team developing personalized direct response email, direct mail and digital campaigns for Visa’s largest clients in the banking, fintech, financial services, and merchant sectors.

This is a director-level role siting on the larger creative team and reports to the Senior Creative Director.

Responsibilities

Manage and Lead a Team: Build and lead a team of direct response professionals (copy, design, coding), providing direction, support, and performance management.

Lead Design and Execution: Oversee Direct Response campaign strategy design and implement comprehensive lifecycle marketing strategies for Visa's clients.

Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with internal teams, such as Client Marketing Services, Creative, Media, and Delivery, to align strategies and deliver effective resources to prospects and customers.

Content Creation and Optimization: Partner with subject matter experts to write and optimize content that supports lifecycle strategies, including email and mail content, checklists, and in-app placements.

Implement and Manage Marketing Tech Stack: Identify and evaluate the need to implement the best marketing automation tools to drive customer acquisition, revenue, and retention.

Measure and Report Performance: Establish and track metrics. Provide real-time reporting and make data-driven decisions to enhance the program.

Adhere to Best Practices: Ensure compliance with direct response and email best practices, including design, deliverability, and cadence.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications _

10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

Minimum 8 years of marketing experience in consumer-facing integrated marketing strategies such as Lifecycle, Direct Response, Digital Campaigns, Payment Card Marketing etc.

At least 5 years of experience in the banking, payments, or financial sectors, including strong knowledge of the direct response landscape and best practices.

Ability to distill strategy from the marketing team, translating and communicating how it informs creative work, with the goal of driving engagement and acquisition.

Deep experience in both traditional and digital DR platforms, channels, and best practices.

Leadership: Minimum 3 years of experience in people management, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing marketing teams.

Marketing Automation: Deep expertise in marketing automation tools.

Analytics: Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with data to drive insights and make informed decisions. Experience in establishing and tracking lifecycle marketing metrics.

Strategic Thinking: Ability to oversee design, implementation, and optimization of comprehensive lifecycle marketing strategies focused on customer acquisition, early month on book (EMOB), usage, retention, and revenue growth.

Collaboration: Proven ability to work cross-functionally to ensure the successful execution of marketing programs.

Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization.

Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with high levels of ambiguity and shifting deadlines.

Customer Focus: Passion for driving customer satisfaction and meeting customer needs through personalized communications and strategies.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 180,700.00 to 235,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
