Description
The Atlanta History Center is currently seeking a collaborative Graphic Designer with a strong work ethic and enthusiasm to join the highly dedicated and motivated marketing team.
The Graphic Designer will support the museum's marketing and communications team by creating visually compelling digital and print materials that attract and engage visitors. This role is essential in promoting the museum's exhibitions, events, and educational programs through creative designs that resonate with diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong design sense, attention to detail, and a passion for history.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Graphic Design and Production
Design digital and print materials, including social media graphics, website banners, email newsletters, posters, flyers, and on-site signage.Create visually engaging graphics for events, and educational materials that adhere to the museum's brand guidelines.Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Content Production to ensure cohesive and consistent visual messaging across all platforms.Brand and Visual Identity
Maintain the museum's brand standards across all design materials, ensuring consistency in color, typography, and imagery.Assist in updating and refining design assets and templates for future projects, supporting an efficient creative workflow.Collaboration and Concept Development
Work closely with the marketing team to brainstorm and develop design concepts for campaigns.Attend design meetings, take feedback constructively, and apply changes to align with marketing goals and project requirements.Digital Optimization and Preparation
Prepare graphics for various digital platforms, optimizing file formats and sizes for web, social media, and email distribution.Work with print vendors for larger-scale projects to prepare files, ensuring quality control and accuracy in printed materials.In-House Printing
Manage in-house printing, ensuring color accuracy and high-quality output for posters, signage, and other printed materials needed for programs and events.QUALIFICATIONS
Technical degree or training in Graphic Design preferred.1-2 years of experience in graphic design (internships or freelance work acceptable.)Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).Familiarity with design best practices for digital and print materials.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Interest in history and visual storytelling.Background Check
