Job Summary: The CAD Design Accuracy (DAT) Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of remote Design Accuracy reviewers located outside the United States, ensuring precision in design adders and technical accuracy across solar installation projects. This role includes managing the DAT team, collaborating with the CAD Quality Review Manager and the CAD Templates Manager, responding to redlines and technical inquiries, tracking and improving accuracy metrics, and providing essential training and support for internal stakeholders. The DAT Manager plays a key role in maintaining a high standard of design and ensuring alignment with electrical requirements and project objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and DAT Team Management (60%)
  • Oversee and provide leadership to a remote team of Design Accuracy Reviewers.
  • Manage workload distribution and evaluate design accuracy, support the Proposals Team in identifying accurate design adders.
  • Maintain high standards for design deliverables, improve design workflows for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversight and Optimization of Design Accuracy Review Processes (20%)
  • Serve as the primary contact for technical questions and respond to redlines related to DAT processes.
  • Ensure all designs meet internal standards before submission.
  • Review completed Main Panel Upgrades (MPUs) to determine if unused adders can be returned to optimize project designs.
  • Address and document failures within the department, identifying trends and proactive solutions.
  • Training and Stakeholder Collaboration (15%)
  • Provide adder-related training to Sales Representatives when requested.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to ensure Sales Representatives understand how adders are called out and support training efforts to improve accuracy.
  • Respond promptly to communications from stakeholders, ensuring team members receive timely guidance.
  • Data Management and Reporting (5%)
  • Update and maintain the Electrical Review (ER) database to ensure consistency and accuracy of design-related documentation.
  • Reporting and Performance Metrics (5%)
  • Track and analyze CAD team performance through key metrics such as project timelines, quality of deliverables, and adherence to design standards.
  • Update project statuses in CRM (Podio) and provide accurate reporting on design progress, team performance, and project completion rates.
  • Prepare and present performance reports to senior leadership, identifying areas for improvement and success in the CAD workflow.



Required Skills and Qualifications:


Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in the solar or renewable energy industry.


Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a CAD management or design accuracy role in the solar or renewable energy industry. Proven track record in managing remote teams, particularly in different time zones.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Aurora, and Solo.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and relevant building codes, with the ability to ensure compliance in all design outputs.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems like Podio for project tracking and reporting.
  • Experience as a Journeyman, Residential Wireman, or Master Electrician is highly preferred.
