Job Description As a Senior Combat Designer, you will be tasked with crafting combat mechanics that will lead to challenging and engaging experiences that will drive our players to master the game. You’ll be working on the progression of the player’s abilities to create interesting and varied playstyles while also working on enemy and encounter designs to challenge those playstyles in a variety of ways.
All potential applicants are encouraged to scroll through and read the complete job description before applying.The person in this role will report to the Lead Gameplay Designer.Daily ResponsibilitiesAnalyzing, pitching, prototyping, developing, and balancing core combat and moment-to-moment gameplay.Designing and crafting player combat mechanics, weapons, and abilities.Designing and crafting enemy behaviors, abilities, and weapons.Collaborating and producing in a cross-discipline environment while building and refining design over time using internal/external feedback.Remaining current on industry trends including new game genres, new game design methods and techniques, and trending audio-visual excellence.Qualifications
At least 5 years of professional experience in the game industry.Proven success in creating compelling and innovative gameplay mechanics.Experience in developing shooters, open world, roleplaying and/or action games.Openness for changes & experimentation, high-quality passion and a good sense of humor are appreciated!Nice to HavesExperience with Unreal Engine 4 and/or Unreal Engine 5.A deep knowledge of our games, narrative focused games, and multiplayer games.Experience with AI design.Additional Information This job can be hybrid/in-office from Boston or fully remote.Health & Well-being
