The Head of Design (UI/UX Product Designer) is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and driving the design vision and execution for digital products. This role involves leading multidisciplinary design projects (UI/UX, visual design, and user research), managing design processes, and ensuring that user-centric design principles are applied across all product touchpoints. The Head of Design will collaborate closely with product management, engineering, sales and marketing teams to align design efforts with business goals, user needs, and technical requirements.

Responsibilities:

Establish comprehensive design processes, including a robust design system, signoff procedure, and QA protocols, aligning with industry best practices.

Partner with senior leadership to drive the company’s design and product strategy.

Lead the design process from concept to delivery, ensuring high-quality and user-friendly experiences across our digital platforms.

Set and communicate the strategic direction for design initiatives that align with the overall business strategy.

Deep knowledge of user-centered design principles, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.

Work closely with product managers and developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and according to specifications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize features, and advocate for the best possible user interface and experience.

Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, and advocate for their adoption as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.

7-10 years of experience as a UI/UX Designer with a proven track record of leading design teams, ideally in a product or tech-driven environment.

A compelling portfolio that showcases a range of UI/UX design projects, demonstrating expertise in both visual and interaction design.

Expertise in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar, and a deep understanding of front-end development practices (HTML, CSS, etc.).

Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.

Experience with user research techniques such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing.

Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale effectively.

Experience working in an agile development environment is a plus.

Knowledge of fintech industry trends and best practices is desirable but not required
