In this high-impact, high visibility role, the candidate will be responsible for driving technical understanding within GEICO Tech while developing a cohesive internal communications strategy. The Director of Communications will provide communications support for GEICO Tech executive leadership while also implementing the strategy that delivers communications throughout the GEICO Tech organization.In addition, this role, which reports to the Head of Internal Communications, will also have responsibility for leading key GEICO Tech communications at the enterprise level for all associates, all people leaders, and other large internal audiences.Prior leadership experience, a deep understanding of internal and executive communications, and experience working directly with senior leaders and engineering teams at large technology companies is vital to your success.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the strategic communications to establish a unified vision for GEICO Tech internal communicationsDirect and support integrated communications campaigns to support enterprise-level communications on behalf of GEICO TechContinuously measure, evaluate, and modify communications plans and tactics to improve impact and effectivenessWork with senior executives on social media, technical fairs, and presentationsOversee the development of training and demo materialsAct as a strategic partner and trusted advisor, working with a range of stakeholders within GEICO Tech and Corporate Communications to identify communication goals and projectsCollaborate with the Vice President of Technology Strategy, Operations, and Incubation, to develop and implement strategic communication plans aligned with business objectivesAssist in setting priorities and defining key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of communication effortsIdentify and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, cross-functional team members and Communications team leadersQualificationsBachelor's degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience8+ years of experience in internal communications with a focus on technical communications at a large, geographically dispersed technology company, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management roleStrong strategic thinking with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable strategiesExcellent project management skills, with a proven track record of successfully leading and executing projectsExperience working on technical communications and with senior-level technology leaders as well as experience developing communications for non-technical audiences is requiredExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiencesAbility to work quickly and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of precision and attention to detailStrong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and guide stakeholders at all levels of the organizationExperience managing and developing a high-performing teamAnnual Salary$143,000.00 - $224,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
