The Events team hosts 200+ virtual and in-person events each year, including custom client-branded experiences and editorial programs for Government Executive, Nextgov/FCW, Defense One, Route Fifty, and Washington Technology.As the Senior Marketing Associate for Events, your day-to-day will include writing email copy, social media, audience communication, market research, and audience and client engagement. In this role, you will execute comprehensive marketing strategies, including email and social media marketing, digital advertising, and more.This role will primarily focus on digital event marketing for webcasts and other virtual programs. Opportunity to market in-person events as the role develops.ResponsibilitiesPlan and execute marketing campaigns focused on successful audience recruitment based on client goals.Create engaging marketing copy across emails and social media to recruit event registrants and attendees.Employ email best practices for send times, subject lines, list segmentation, format, and deliverability.Assess open rates and click-through rates to shape email distribution strategy.Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders to establish and exceed program objectives.Track registration pacing and event show rates.Develop strong understanding of public sector event space.Staff in-person events in the Washington, DC area.QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field.1-3 years of experience in a marketing role.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability and interest to learn new skills and technology.Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Gmail, and Google Drive.Experience with HTML and email marketing through a previous marketing role.Familiarity with Sailthru or similar email system.Experience with social media is a plus.Familiarity with Adobe Suite is a plus.About GovExec:GovExec's data and insights set the standard for depth, accuracy, and impact for government leaders and contractors.
