Role Overview:

The Paid Media Director

(PMD) role will form part of the US Paid Media team, heading up a client delivery pod. Ultimately, the PMD is accountable for the work produced by their pod.

The

PMD

role is focused on 3 functional areas:

management of an assigned client pod

acting in an advisory capacity to clients, and

media strategy lead for new and existing clients.

This role includes ( but isn’t limited to ) working closely with clients, client services, the paid media team and other operational teams on cross-channel media strategies, optimization plans, measurement plans, reporting and insights. The PMD will need to have a strong understanding of analyzing data and advise where campaign strategies can be improved.

The PMD will be responsible for managing a team, and being solution-driven in achieving both team and client KPIs. They will be responsible for managing the profitability of their clients, as well as ensuring that their team works efficiently at a billable rate. They are also responsible for adequate resource planning, as well as the training and career development/performance management of each team member.

Attending client meetings will form part of this role, building strong relationships with clients and supporting the client services team with strategic input and campaign feedback.

Staying on top of relevant industry challenges, opportunities and advancements will also be important in this role.

This role is hybrid in Santo Domingo, remote for Canada and some US locations.

Responsibilities:

Lead the cross-channel strategy for a set of clients to deliver on client KPIs and help us grow their business alongside our own.

Increase the revenue generated from existing clients through media performance and introduction of new products and services.

Direct resources to plan, set up, monitor and optimize all paid media channels including Paid Search, Paid Shopping, Paid Social, Display and Video. Platforms utilized include Google Ads, the Google Marketing Platform, Microsoft Ads, Meta etc.

Ensure campaigns are built and optimized to a standard considered best in-market and accurately serve their target audience in the most cost effective means possible.

Perform regular checks on quality (including making sure that the QA process is followed without exception), completeness and performance of campaigns and suggest corrective measures where needed.

Guide and direct the campaign team to ensure the focus on critical areas and delivery of initiatives for expansion.

Evaluate data and identify changes in performance, highlighting underlying problems and opportunities for growth.

Assist the team with reporting discrepancies, tracking issues and testing new features.

Ensure clients are provided with relevant, timely and actionable insights that are valuable to the client’s organization.

Attend meetings with clients online (and in-person if necessary), supported by the client services team, in order to translate business requirements and considerations of clients into actionable steps for the agency.

Work with Display and Social Directors to bring market-leading strategies and tactics to life.

Manage the profitability of assigned book of clients.

Create upsell opportunities with clients for tech and creative.

Represent the business in Sales pitches.

Be accountable for the leadership and mentorship of assigned pod, but also be a leader to the paid media team as a whole.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

A minimum of 6+ years’ experience within the digital industry, including 2+ years managing a team

Experience as a paid search manager for a minimum of 4 years

Certificates, licenses and registrations required (at a minimum): Google Ads certifications (any), Search Ads 360, Google Analytics 4

Well-versed in performance marketing, yielding results for clients’ investments, i.e. sales/lead conversion and omnichannel acquisition

Experience in working directly with clients & commercial teams

Experience presenting and pitching for business with strong presentation skills

A clear understanding of digital commercial models

Illustrate strong relationships with Technology partners; Google, Meta, publishers etc.

Experience with website analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) to provide expert insight into analytics

Experience with measurement plans & tracking

Computer skills required: (Microsoft Office Suite; Google Sheets/Docs/Slides, Project Management Software)

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

Certifications: Campaign Manager 360, Display & Video 360, Google Tag Manager, Meta Blueprint (Media Buying/Media Planning) LinkedIn Certified Marketer (Marketing Strategy) Proof of completion of TikTok for Business Modules, Smartly (Ad Buying Foundational), The Trade Desk Edge Academy certifications, etc.

Experience with Meta Marketing Partners e.g. Smartly, Mediaocean, ROI Hunter, etc.
