Epic Games is looking for a Senior Gameplay Designer to oversee the development of new islands, experiences, and templates in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and implement island experiences and content to delight players and help us inspire creators working in Fortnite Creative and UEFN. This role is open to multiple locations: Europe (UK/London preferred) and North America (EST) and will require occasional travel to both Europe and the US.In this role, you will

Craft and drive the design vision, documentation, and implementation for multiple island experiences in collaboration with Gameplay Designers, Product Managers, and Design LeadershipCollaborate with internal and external teams to drive development forward, being a vision holder for overall publishing effortsLiaise with external partners to identify the creative direction for their presence in the ecosystem, ensuring that they are kept informed and involved with design decisionsActively participate in big-picture decisions and work with other designers to focus on the right elements to achieve inspiring resultsDrive collaborative and iterative prototyping, both paper-based and in-gameAttend playtests, provide feedback, and identify practical solutions to problemsWhat we're looking for

5+ years of experience shipping multiple titles as a Game DesignerPassion for and experience designing online games with a wide breadth of game knowledge across genresDemonstrated talent for empathizing with players and a deep understanding of player motivations, forms of play, and the effects of goal setting on playUnderstanding of and enthusiasm for global popular culture and ability to empathize with fans of any fandomUnderstanding of the full game development process from ideation, pre-production, and production through to shipping the final productBroad knowledge spanning multiple areas of Game Design, able to confidently engage on a variety of complex topics across designTechnical prototyping ability in-engine, preferably Unreal or UEFN. Level design skills a plusFamiliarity and interest in Fortnite and the evolving creator and UGC space within UEFNExceptional communication skills and the ability to fully own the outcome of a cross-discipline teamPay Transparency Information The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience.
