Interested in learning more about this job Scroll down and find out what skills, experience and educational qualifications are needed.DescriptionParticipate with a design team on multiple projects in the implementation of high-end interior design solutions for each project from concept stage through installation for residential, hospitality, and commercial projects/properties. The Interior Designer will work under the Principal, Director, and Senior Designer and participate in all aspects of the design process – from schematic design to construction documentations.Key Responsibilities
Work as a member of the design team to develop designs, concepts, schematics, and specifications on multiple projects.
Research and analysis of the client's goals and requirements, development of documents, drawings and diagrams that outline those needs.
Prepare and complete contract documents to meet client program, company standards, and project budget constraints including but not limited to: design presentations, modeling, construction drawings sets, floorplans, elevations, specifications, FF&E selections, custom furniture design documentation and material finishes packages.
Formulate preliminary space plans, render two- and three-dimensional design concept studies and sketches that integrate the client's needs and are based on knowledge of the principles of interior design and theories of human behavior.
Confirm that preliminary space plans and design concepts are safe, functional, aesthetically appropriate, and meet all public health, safety and welfare requirements
Drafting, interpreting and modifying architectural designs and construction documents
Prepare construction documents, consisting of plans, elevations, details and specifications, to illustrate non-structural and/or non-seismic partition layouts; power and communications locations; reflected ceiling plans and lighting designs; materials and finishes
Observe and report on worksite installations and building conditions as the project is in progress.
Preparation of construction documents to adhere to regional building and fire codes, municipal codes, and any other jurisdictional statutes, regulations and guidelines applicable to the interior space as well as ADA compliant
Select colors, materials and finishes to appropriately convey the design concept, functional, life-cycle performance, environmental, and safety requirements
Assist with selecting and specifying cabinetry, stone scopes, appliances, plumbing fixtures, door and cabinetry hardware, materials, and interior finishes
Manage the interior design resource library and maintain vendor contacts for interior furnishings, fixtures and finishes
Prepare specifications and schedules with accurate product information for all millwork, casework, appliances, plumbing, hardware and bath accessories
Coordination and collaboration with other design professionals who may be retained to provide consulting services, including but not limited to architects, structural, mechanical and electrical engineers, and various specialty consultants
Assist with preparing budget/project cost, fee analysis, proposals, and purchase orders
Educational and Special RequirementsMust possess a master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related field (foreign equivalent accepted), plus 2 years of experience, which may be gained concurrently, using: AutoCad, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, Enscape, Bluebeam Revit, and Specsourses.
