Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will drive strategic growth for a portfolio of nutrition brands, by leading the marketing, advertising and creative strategies, and scaling the brand portfolio. This role oversees brand management, digital strategy, and creative and performance marketing. This position is as strategic as it is executional.
The Ideal Candidate
Results-driven leader skilled in brand management, data-driven insights, and digital marketing across various markets and customer segments
Familiar with the sports nutrition space and understands the key retail players and distributor network
Can lead a diverse team in a start-up environment and understands the team is lean and he/she must help project manage all deliverables
Key Responsibilities:
developing a consumer-centric value creation strategy, building and executing robust marketing programs, shaping omnichannel and eCommerce initiatives, and managing a team.
Brand Strategy & P&L Ownership
Lead the strategic roadmap and yearly operational plan focused on customer insights, brand initiatives, and innovation pipeline development.
Own and manage the brand portfolio's P&L, collaborating cross-functionally (Supply Chain, Sales, Finance) to meet KPIs in revenue, market share, and ROI on marketing investments.
Foster collaboration with Sales and Operations to maximize value creation
Working closely with brand and creative leads to develop and execute creative strategy and content across all digital platforms and events.
Digital, Retail and Omnichannel Growth
Enhance digital transformation through integrated marketing, digital media, and retailer partnerships.
Establish best practices in digital content, leveraging data-driven insights to elevate brand awareness and reach.
Manage and own relationship with external digital agencies to execute digital marketing strategies, optimizing media investment and increasing online engagement
Oversee Customer Marketing Manager to set strategy on marketing initiatives for retail partners, customer and trade marketing programs.
Work with sales to set retailer promotion strategy, price pack architecture, retailer specific innovation strategy
Analytics & Data-Driven Decision Making
Leverage advanced analytics to shape brand strategy, understand customer behavior, and identify new growth opportunities for sales teams.
Continually analyze performance and market trends and optimize strategies, actions, and team priorities accordingly
Team Leadership & Capability Building
Set strategy for marketing team (creative, social, events) and empower and manage direct leads to execute.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that promotes open communication and talent development.
Ensure alignment with the company’s mission and values, serving as a role model and advocate for the brand.
Qualifications
Proven success in brand management, omnichannel marketing, and innovation within consumer-packaged goods, ideally within the health or sports nutrition space.
Track record of managing and growing P&L with a focus on revenue, market share, and ROI.
Expertise in digital marketing, eCommerce, and data-driven insights for brand building and consumer engagement.
Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Strong understanding of retail relationships, programs and retailer KPIs within the space.
Ability to adjust to changing priorities, deal with ambiguity and work with a variety of stakeholders
Ability to influence internal stakeholders
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership role within a CPG brand, preferably within a Sports Nutrition Brand.
