Senior Product Marketing Manager, Mobile Apps
We are launching a new app, which will be a mobile-first experience that delivers engaging news and lifestyle content. We’re looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to help bring this product to market and drive growth. As the Senior Product Marketing Manager for mobile apps, you’ll take ownership of the marketing strategy, from launch through sustained growth. You’ll be responsible for driving user acquisition, engagement, and retention through innovative marketing campaigns and initiatives. Your expertise in app marketing will ensure that our product not only reaches its target audience but also builds loyalty and long-term user value.

Hourly Rate: $75
Location: NYC Office or Remote - US
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy:
Develop and execute the end-to-end marketing strategy for the app launch, ensuring all campaigns align with the product vision and business goals.
Growth Strategy:
Drive growth by leading multi-channel user acquisition campaigns across social, digital, and organic channels, with a strong focus on optimizing for high-quality user acquisition and conversion. Conduct funnel analysis to identify key moments for awareness, sampling, and conversion.
Brand and Messaging:
Define and evolve the brand narrative for the app, aligning with our world class brands, and ensuring cohesive messaging across all user touchpoints.
Performance Marketing and Analytics:
Own performance marketing efforts to drive downloads and user growth. Continuously track and analyze campaign performance to optimize strategy and enhance engagement.
Content and Creative Development:
Oversee the creation of marketing content, including app store assets, social media posts, paid ad creatives, and email campaigns.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with product, design, edit and engineering teams to align marketing efforts with new feature releases, app updates, and content calendars.
User Engagement and Retention Programs:
Create campaigns that drive user engagement and retention. Collaborate with product to identify key habits and engagement behaviors, and develop multi-channel strategies to drive those behaviors.
Market Research:
Conduct ongoing market research to identify key trends and opportunities to improve the app’s market position.
Partnerships and Influencers:
Establish and manage strategic partnerships with influencers, media partners, and brand advocates to grow app awareness and engagement.
Skills/Experience:
7+ years of experience in app marketing
with a proven track record of leading successful mobile app launches and driving high-velocity growth.
Deep expertise in user acquisition, growth, and retention
for mobile apps, including paid acquisition strategies, organic growth, and lifecycle marketing.
Experience developing and executing
cross-channel marketing strategies , including performance marketing, social media, influencer marketing, in-product messaging, and email campaigns.
Strong analytical mindset; comfortable with
data analysis
and using insights to make informed decisions about campaign optimizations.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and work closely with product and engineering on feature alignment and releases.
Proven experience in brand building
and crafting compelling messaging for new products.
Hands-on experience with
mobile app analytics tools
(e.g., Appsflyer, Amplitude) and performance marketing platforms.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present and influence at all levels.
A passion for the intersection of news, lifestyle, and pop culture, with a keen understanding of how to reach and engage audiences in these categories.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in media, entertainment, or lifestyle brands.
