If you are passionate about building great core curriculum products and want to see your work have an impact at epic scale, we want to hear from you!How can you make an Impact?As an Academic Design Director, Mathematics, you will work directly with the VP of Academic Design for Math. You will lead a math team focused on building high-quality curriculum and resources for McGraw Hill’s innovative math product solutions, and innovative print and digital components that are used by millions of educators and students every day.The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Texas math standards, pedagogy, pedagogical content knowledge, and curriculum. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative and effective math products to market.This is a remote position with

potentially 20% of travel

and is open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

Candidates must reside in the state of Texas.Your contribution to the team includes:Lead and manage curriculum development projects, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality math curriculum materials.Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, editorial) and external stakeholders to align curriculum offerings with market needs and state standards.Provide leadership and guidance to academic design teams, promoting a data-driven, research-based, and results-oriented approach to content development.Understand competitive and detailed development plans based on customer needs and state requirements. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

Reviewing, updating, and developing content aligned to state standards, guidelines, and frameworks.Ensuring content is mathematically accurate and age-appropriate.Embody the McGraw-Hill Education’s Guiding Principles for Supporting English Learners.Meeting accessibility guidelines, and helping all learners achieve academic success.Align to McGraw-Hill Education’s guidelines for academic integrity.Provide content on budget and on schedule.Evaluate products using quality rubrics and provide evidence of meeting rubric requirements.

Understand and contribute to the adoption process for core math curricula, including assessments and pedagogical content knowledge.Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, delivering presentations, updates, and reports to senior leadership and external partners.Manage budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation for curriculum projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient development processes.Stay informed on current math education trends and best practices to maintain the relevance and rigor of curriculum offerings.Make strategic decisions to drive product development and market success, using a deep understanding of math pedagogy, standards, and assessment requirements.Ensure that curriculum products meet the needs of diverse learners, using evidence-based instructional strategies.What you will need to be successful:Bachelor’s degree in education or math.At least 5 years of experience teaching in a K-12 setting. Administrative experience a plus.At least 5 years of educational publishing with core curriculum experience. Math K-12 experience preferred.Experience with digital and blended learning curriculum development.Knowledge of emerging trends in educational technology and personalized learning solutions.Knowledge of appropriate industry and math content development practices, content standards, and academic and pedagogical trends.Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.Effective organizational and time management skills; productive, efficient work habits and the ability to prioritize, multitask, and exhibit flexibility.Diverse computer skills, expert-level in MS Office suite, proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Smartsheet, and K4/InCopy markup preferred.Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, quality, and on-time delivery.Why work for us?At McGraw Hill, you will be empowered to make a real impact on a global scale.
