Job Overview
PlanetArt is looking for a Senior Designer, Content & Merchandising to support the company’s Content & Merchandising Department. The successful candidate will be someone who excels at shaping the design of our content and product. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating designs that feature fresh, best-selling and trending designs for our product collections and categories. Your work will be key in driving engagement and sales by presenting our products in the most captivating and relevant way possible.
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates much be local to or willing to relocate to the San Diego CA or Woodridge IL office area as we operate on a hybrid work model (3 days onsite, 2 remote)

What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Art Direction. Develop and execute compelling visual designs for extensive product collections across diverse categories, aligning with our overall design strategy.
- Merchandising Collaboration. Partner with Merchandising leadership to create and implement effective merchandise strategies for specific categories and collections.
- Content Management: Oversee the curation and selection of engaging content for our brand's email campaigns.
- Product Development: Contribute to the creation of new product lines and categories, infusing them with innovative design concepts.
- Mentorship: Guide and inspire junior designers by providing constructive feedback and fostering their professional growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships with teams across the organization to effectively collaborate and solve problems together.
- Trend Analysis. Stay ahead of market trends and consumer preferences by regularly reviewing design and product performance. Use this knowledge to introduce new and innovative design concepts that keep the content fresh and engaging.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
What You Should Have
Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements
- Art, Design, or Merchandising degree recommended
- 5-7 years of experience in graphic design or a related field, with a preference for experience in the product market
- The ideal candidate will have an impeccable eye for details, commitment to quality with meticulous attention to detail
- Must be a self-motivator, possessing the ability to work effectively with little or no supervision
- Positive outlook and collaborative spirit
- High level of creative vision for design development of themes, topics, categories
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, be flexible, prioritize and overcome obstacles with creative problem solving and cross-functional partnerships
- Proficiency with Adobe suite (Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

Working Conditions
- Work is performed in an office environment with low to moderate noise levels.

- May require occasional travel.
- This is a hybrid position; employees are expected to be in the office three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) with the option of working remotely two days (Wednesday and Friday).
Benefits
Compensation: $65,000 - $90,000 annual salary
