to support our premier client’s Foundational Web Services team. The ideal candidate will have experience writing documentation for APIs, SDKs, components, and tools. This is a
6-month
contract role
that offers experience creating and publishing technical documentation for our client’s technology program, including developer’s guides and detailed API documentation.Responsibilities:Design and plan documentation for foundational web services teamWrite and edit technical documents such as user guides, installation and configuration manuals, API documentation, and troubleshooting guides.Deliver timely updates and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure documentation is up to date with platform updates and new releases.Ensure documentation is accessible and user-friendlystablish a framework for content reuse to avoid duplication of effort and streamline the creation of consistent, high-quality documentation across multiple platforms and document types.Develop single-source documentation practices, enabling content to be created once and easily deployed across multiple outputs (e.g., HTML, PDF, mobile).Work with team to streamline workflowsHelp evaluate and select tools and technologies for the technical publications teamQualifications:4+ years in a writing or lead writing roleProven ability to work with developers and write for a developer audienceExperience working with a programming language such as Java, C#, or C++ is essentialProven experience designing documentation for software APIsStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skillsPassion to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environmentExperience with XML-based publishing systemsSome experience with web services and related technologies a plus
