Coakley & Williams Construction (CWC) seeks a versatile Marketing Manager to lead an integrated focus on marketing, communications, and pursuits. This role unites these functions to drive a cohesive, high-impact strategy that builds CWC’s brand, engages stakeholders, and elevates our market presence. We’re looking for a candidate with a solid strategic vision to weave consistent storytelling across all platforms, execute engaging proposals, and foster a collaborative environment that empowers the team to meet every challenge with creativity and precision.
The manager will be responsible for developing high-quality, compliant, and compelling proposals that showcase the company's expertise, articulate our value to potential clients, and win new business. Additionally, this person will play a vital role in CWC’s marketing efforts through written and illustrative internal and external communications. This role involves collaborating with essential stakeholders and actively supporting the organization's growth objectives by leading corporate events and communications, successfully executing project pursuits, communicating with conviction, and maneuvering a competitive, deadline-driven environment.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProposal & Pursuit ManagementLead the proposal lifecycle from initial strategy to post-submission analysis, ensuring seamless and high-quality experience for internal stakeholders and potential clients.Manage and execute all qualification/proposal/interview presentation responses - ensuring detailed deliverable deadlines are met while maintaining brand continuity. Delegate tasks to team members as required.Provide design leadership and support for the setup, assembly, and distribution of qualification/proposal/interview presentation materials.Participate in strategy sessions with the larger pursuit team to develop win strategies and determine relevant content to articulate in all deliverables throughout the capture process.Create and update project fact sheets and employee resumes as needed.Provide quality control reviews to all deliverables produced by other contributors.Participate in post-proposal and interview submission debriefs to learn reasons for winning and losing and help establish best practices.Research new ideas, methods, and technologies to present our materials, staying ahead of the curve against our competition.Responsible for the maintenance and quality of CWC written content and historical data utilizing the internal CRM, Dynamics, and other internal tools.Maintain current knowledge of historical projects completed, projects under construction, capabilities, and staff to proactively suggest relevant projects and teams for proposals.Maintain in-depth knowledge of CWC company history, services, competitors, and market sectors.
Marketing & Communications ManagementManage CWC’s corporate brand strategy to ensure that all presentations, proposals, job sites, signage, and custom promotional / brand materials meet Company standards.Ensure all graphics standards are met in internal and external communications.Coordinate and manage the Company’s project photography portfolio by collaborating with project teams/clients/owners on timing, shot list, and capturing “activated” spaces. Ensure “before” pictures of renovation projects are taken.Coordinate and manage employee photography at internal and external events, headshots, or any other internal and external communications needs.Develop and execute a content calendar to increase the Company’s social media presence and effectiveness with relevant news, posts, photos, and articles.Contribute to CWC’s external website, providing relevant, interesting, and timely information and updates appropriate for clients, industry professionals, and employees.Maintain the Company’s internal intranet site, providing relevant, interesting, timely information and updates appropriate for employees.Assist Marketing, Business Development, & Human Resources in the planning, organization, and execution of employee/client meetings/eventsWork with all departments in the Company to obtain timely and topical news/updates for distribution on the corporate website, social media, and intranet site.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills Strongly Desired:Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a construction-related field of study; orMinimum eight years of experience performing similar functions in the A/E/C industry.Significant experience with proposal development in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is essential.Highly proficient with Adobe Creative Suite & Microsoft Office Suite.Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently, including handling multiple, simultaneous deadlines, and last-minute assignments.High sense of urgency and willingness to take initiative.Strong proofreading/editing skills.Ability to convey thoughts, ideas, and technical information in a clearly understood and concise manner.Motivated self-starter; analytical; exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail a must.Ability to work independently and possess a collaborative mindset as teamwork is valued in this role.Possess a positive “can do” attitude and maintain professional attire and behavior.
Job DemandsA minimum of 40 hours per week is required. Work hours vary depending on project requirements and may involve weekends and night work.
Individuals should be able to reach above and below, stoop and bend, sit, walk, and stand. Individuals should also be able to lift, carry and/or moving items up to 50lbs. May be exposed to heavy machinery/equipment, hazardous chemicals, and extreme weather conditions.
