The

Senior Director of Marketing

is accountable for the successful operation of all Marketing including but not limited to Player Development, Database Marketing, Sales and Partnerships, and Special Events and Promotions for both Derby City Gaming properties in Louisville, KY. Develops a consistent and cohesive marketing plan, strategies and tactics for both Derby City Gaming & Hotel and Derby City Gaming Downtown.

Derby City Gaming & Hotel boasts nearly 1,300 of the latest games, two grab-n-go restaurants, Oliver’s steakhouse, Kentucky Derby-themed hotel and live music every weekend. The newly expanded Derby City Gaming & Hotel was voted one of the “Best Places to Work in Greater Louisville” by Louisville Business First.

At Derby City Gaming Downtown, gaming enthusiasts can enjoy nearly 500 of the most popular games, Fascinator Wine Bar and Trophy Bourbon & Cigars Bar, sports bar with live entertainment most weekends and a Kentucky Derby Gift Shop.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the hiring, training, development, and supervision of the Regional Marketing Department.Plan and organize workloads and staff assignments, ensuring that each property's team is effectively trained, motivated, and evaluated to achieve optimal performance.Establish department standards, guidelines, and objectives for both properties, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive annual marketing plans, budgets, goals, and strategies for each property, ensuring they align with the overarching regional business objectives.Collaborate with corporate and property leadership to design and execute effective marketing management strategies, including the development of marketing calendars, marketing execution at each property, business development objectives, and VIP development.Focus on strategies that yield maximum market revenue and shareholder value by leveraging synergies between the two properties, identifying growth opportunities, and optimizing resource allocation.Oversee the development and implementation of all offers, promotions and events for both properties, including free play offers, drawings, giveaways, parties, special events, outdoor events, tournaments, and more.Coordinate with internal & external vendors to execute promotions and campaigns that meet the distinct needs of each property.Ensure that promotions and events are designed to profitably drive traffic, increase customer engagement, and maximize revenue across both properties.Leverage player development team who can engage with guests at both properties to build and maintain strong customer relationships, fostering loyalty through personalized interactions and feedback mechanisms.Develop strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and retention, with a focus on increasing lifetime customer value.Develop and execute cross-property sales strategies aimed at attracting group and tourism business customers, leveraging the unique offerings of both Derby City Gaming & Hotel and Derby City Gaming Downtown.Collaborate with regional tourism boards, travel agencies, and corporate partners to position both properties as premier destinations for group events, conferences, and tourism-related activities.Identify and pursue business development opportunities that drive incremental revenue through targeted group sales, meetings, and events.Create and implement packages and promotions that appeal to group and tourism markets, ensuring a seamless experience across both properties.Maintain an in-depth understanding of market trends, legal regulations, and industry standards that impact both properties, ensuring all marketing initiatives are compliant and competitive.Analyze the financial performance of marketing programs across both properties, reviewing departmental financial activity to manage expenses within budget and maximize ROI.Continuously monitor and assess market conditions to identify opportunities for growth, adjust strategies, and ensure both properties are well-positioned to capitalize on market trends.Create, review, and maintain records, reports, and other administrative documentation in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with organizational expectations and regulatory requirements.Ensure that all administrative processes support the strategic goals of maximizing market share and revenue.Facilitate communication and collaboration between marketing teams at both properties to ensure consistency in messaging, promotions, and overall brand strategy.Leverage the strengths of each property to create complementary marketing initiatives that enhance the overall market presence of both propertiesPerform other duties as assigned, adapting to the dynamic needs of both Derby City Gaming & Hotel and Derby City Gaming Downtown.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Management abilities demonstrated in managing the marketing department operational effectiveness.Public relations and customer service skills.Maintaining interpersonal professional working relationships among all personnel.Oral and written communication skills.Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the performance of marketing and the property.Analytical skills demonstrated in setting goals, analyzing results adjusting and delivering measurable resultsValid Racing License

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

At least 7 years of experience in the gaming industry with at least 3 years at a managerial or supervisory level in gaming Marketing or Player Development. (Preferred)4-year degree, or equivalent work experience, in a related field required
