To help deliver impactful work for a variety of independent category leaders and up-and-coming food, wellness and hospitality brands, we’re looking for an Associate Creative Director, Writer who plays an integral role in concepting and developing creative that engages audiences and strengthens brand relevancy across several CPG accounts. This role is primarily focused on creative content for social channels, digital content and campaigns. The ACD, Writer reports directly to the Sr. Creative Director and mainly works in partnership with the account team to understand client priorities and objectives, digital strategy to apply best practices and insights, and the creative team to produce outstanding work. The ideal candidate has experience in food brands, an appetite to be in-the-know with cultural trends, and a strength in storytelling on social platforms.ResponsibilitiesGo-to resource, helping clients articulate and achieve their business goals, to build healthy, thriving client relationships as a trusted partner, problem-solver and opportunity spotterSees the big picture, endlessly curious about the business, opportunities and challengesEstablishes account priorities and develops clear project briefs to help manage expectations between agency and clientLeads internal and client kick-off meetings to clarify roles, and expectations, discuss the briefs, and set up the project for successProvides strategic oversite, sharing clear feedback grounded in a strong understanding of the client’s objectives and brand positioningOversees the day-to-day running of all assigned accounts to proactively develop and sustain client relationships, continually supporting clients’ business with relevant ideas to achieve their goalsPartners and collaborates with relevant teams and disciplines to ensure the strategic development of plans and recommendations, playing a strategic role throughout the project through review, analysis, and evaluation of the work, ensuring work is aligned with the client’s needs and objectivesWorks with project management to develop scopes of work and budgets, oversees performance monitoring and budget management, taking responsibility for leading accounts for growth and profitabilityRepresents the agency’s point of view with a willingness to respectfully defend counsel and challenge push back when warrantedContributes to agency new business development, leading pitch deck development and presentationsUnderstands and embody Maxwell’s core values, becoming a model of the company’s values for employees, clients and partnersHolds the team accountable for hitting project milestones within budget, with the help of a Project ManagerWorks with finance and project management to ensure accounts are profitableKeeps work flowing past bottlenecks and stays alert to scope creepBring Your Experience7+ years’ experience, agency experience preferredBackground in writing, creative, advertising, or related field preferredExperience with food CPG brands preferredAbility to spot and grasp key brand insights, and transform into ground-breaking creative that supports business strategyBrings a fresh, energetic, human-centric style to the workExperience leading creative projectsStrong ability to script, storyboard and visually communicate ideasDetail-oriented and attuned to delivering work that captures brand nuancesPortfolio or work samples demonstrating brand-building ideas and executionsStrong leadership potentialEffortless ability to collaborate with varying teams, departments and clientsProficiency in tools for creating presentation decks and Microsoft Suite toolsExperience on video and photoshoots a plusAbility to develop tone of voice brand guide work a plusEnjoy the BenefitsCompetitive compensationRobust medical, dental, vision and alternative care, as well as short-term disability401K matchHybrid work environmentWellness stipendGenerous paid holidays and vacation to include "Early Out Fridays!"Regular check-ins and an "always on" approach to feedback and goal settingProfessional development opportunitiesA positive, balanced work-life including hybrid work environmentAbut UsMaxwell is a woman-owned, integrated marketing agency serving national consumer brands in food & beverage, wellness, outdoor, hospitality and tourism.
