The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and updating content with a focus on learning experiences to address company and client needs.
Duties & Responsibilities:Be able to articulate and lead the instructional design processBe the teammate everyone wants on their teamCreate memorable learning events that are sustainableSupport client administrative task as assignedDesign and develop content and learning experiences for a variety of audiences and delivery methods including instructor led and digital deliveryWork on multiple projects simultaneouslyTake ownership in making our company the best place ever to workBe a learning advisor to our customers both internal and externalBe able to articulate what the learner’s (customer) experience means to you as a designerOwn and grow your professional selfBe a problem solver not a problem creatorChallenge the status quoBe able to articulate what constitutes a quality learning productUpdate and revise products as necessary to maintain currencyNecessary Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of various and current learning approachesApplication of instructional design and principles of adult learningStrong technical and creative writing skillsStrong interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skillsCreative problem solving skillsOrganizational and planning skillsAbility to work independently or with little direction, when requiredStrong computer skills, including Windows, Word, PowerPoint, OutlookFamiliarity with Content Management Systems a plusKnowledge of web conferencing platform and digital authoring tools a plus
Education & Experience:Bachelor’s with specialization in instructional design, adult education, or a related field. Master’s degree a plus.Formal training in instructional design required2-3 years of experience designing and developing participant-centered, applied learning solutions.Experience using learning technology tools and applications a plus and Kirkpatrick Level IIIPosition will be onsite at client location and must be willing to obtain a Public Trust clearance
