ICS is hiring an Audio-Visual (AV) Design Manager to lead our AV design and estimation team!
Industrial Communication & Sound (ICS) (www.icands.com) is an award-winning, full-service Audio Visual and Security Integration firm with locations in Columbus and Cincinnati.
- ICS is a subsidiary of CTL Engineering (www.ctleng.com) – a full service consulting engineering firm with (15) locations across OH, IN, WV, KY, NC, SC, and VA with a rich history over our (97) years in business.. We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting and installation, and specialized testing services to the construction industry.
We are seeking a creative and experienced Audio-Visual (AV) Design Manager to lead our AV design and estimation team.
- The Audio-Visual Design Manager will be responsible for the design and support of complex audio/visual systems in a variety of customer environments as well as managing a team of designers/support staff.
- The successful candidate will have a history of creating designs that integrate various audio visual and control systems.
- This is a full-time position that is office-based with occasional travel to client sites or other locations as needed.
- Flexibility in working hours may be required for project timelines or installations during off-peak hours.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Skills:
- Develop system designs that meet customer functional and budgetary requirements.
- Be able to read bid specifications/plans and implement functional design based on those parameters.
- Responsible for always maintaining professional attitude and delivering excellent customer service.
- Maintain high-level of personal expertise in current and future technology.
- Generate functional and connection-level drawings for audio, video, control, and communications systems.
- Create Engineering Design Packages (to include A/V control, video, and audio, schematics).
- Generate and submit Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Responsible for complete life cycle of a project:
- Concept Design,
- sales support,
- submittal creation,
- installation team support, and
- close out documentation.
- Define functional requirements for control systems programmer.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to inspire and manage a team.
- Proactive, with the ability to anticipate challenges and resolve issues before they impact projects.
- Creative thinker with an eye for detail and the ability to balance aesthetic design with technical functionality.
- A collaborative approach, working well with a wide range of stakeholders from different departments.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of (5) years’ experience working with Crestron, Extron, Biamp, and other AV systems.
- Minimum of two years in management.
- CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or equivalent AV certification.
- Experience conducting site surveys, designing and installing audio visual solutions.
- Experience with control systems, video-conferencing, switching hardware, audio DSP setup and calibration.
- Experience using Vizio and/or AutoCad software.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be able to communicate and interact with co-workers, customers, and vendors in a professional and timely manner.
- Experience in DTools is a plus.
- Experience with Blubeam a plus.
