Multimedia Content Designer

Overview

The Hartford is looking for a Multimedia Content Designer to create cross-channel digital experiences with meaningful impact.

The Multimedia Content Designer is responsible for the conceptualization, design and execution of compelling and effective SEO-informed digital assets that help drive acquisition and engagement across The Hartford’s website and blog properties. Our ideal candidate is a team player with a great attitude who can shape web experiences through expertly-designed digital content, including videos, animations, photography and other rich media deliverables. The Multimedia Content Designer will work within the Multimedia Strategy team.

Responsibilities

Design captivating rich media assets (infographics, microcontent, iconography, etc.) for thehartford.com and blog properties that helps solve problems, delivers results and is consistent with The Hartford’s brand identity and business strategy

Produce and edit video footage and photography for various web and social media placements

Recommend and execute multimedia content that improves relevancy and overall experience, and meets the unique needs of the recipient based on their interests and location in the customer journey

Collaborate with content writers to develop SEO-informed rich media assets for various blogs and article publications

Collaborate with line of business stakeholders to understand and execute specific graphic design and multimedia support needs

Translate complex insurance and enterprise-related topics into simplified, branded multimedia content for various channels

Work with web analyst to refine and optimize multimedia assets based on performance

Provide cross-functional design support for Multimedia Strategy team members as needed

Qualifications

5+ years professional experience in digital or multimedia design at an agency, marketing department, or comparable organization

Strong portfolio of digital design and video production work

Deep understanding of user-centric design principles and digital best practices including file types, web functionality, responsive design and accessibility standards

Mastery of Adobe Creative programs, including but not limited to After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.

Proficiency in Figma or other UX design tools

Knowledge of web design creative best practices for both static and video

Front-end web development experience a plus

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or other creative field is preferred, but not required

Ability to build strong relationships, work well with others and as a part of a team is a must, including:

Demonstrating reliability, communicating constructively and being an active listener

Exhibiting flexibility, participating as a problem-solver

Willingness to pitch in to help the broader team as needed

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$80,000 - $120,000
