We are open to hiring in the following states: California, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Washington D.C.Essential FunctionsOversee $1.5 - 2M in account revenue as most senior, strategic client counsel.Consistently produce a coherent strategy for clients and projects.Work with top executives at leading technology companies as a trusted counselor and advisor.Own and drive a cornerstone in the agency (excellent careers, superb client service, strong financials, improved operations and tools aka smooth operators).Generate business revenue within existing clients by taking a broad view of the entire marketing and communications mix, and offering strategic recommendations to expand the scope of work or bring new services to clients.Identify and lead pitch to bring in new clients with growth goals tied to salary.Work with integrated teams to provide clients with seamless multi-channel solutions utilizing traditional PR, digital and social media platforms to deliver maximum performance and results.Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.Manage, mentor, and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach on a consistent basis.Monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and conduct annual performance reviews.Represent Highwire and key clients at high-level industry events, seminars, and conferences as required to maintain professional development and to build networking and new business contacts.Service clients profitably while monitoring and advising on staff billability, client needs, resource load, and staff performance.Maintain account group revenue by managing the ebb and flow of accounts and budgets.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related fieldMinimum 15 years experience in communications either in-house or with an agency with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with top-tier reporters and editors, and in successfully positioning subject matter with the media to achieve high-impact placementsExtensive successful writing and editing experience (externally focused) with a variety of print and online communications mediaExperience with social media influencer engagement, content campaigns, and media coverage amplificationDemonstrated experience and leadership in managing comprehensive strategic communications, media relations, and marketing program to advance an organization’s mission and goalsInnovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and outputExperience in building, managing, mentoring, and coaching a team of communications specialistsExcellent judgment and creative problem-solving skillsAbility to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needsExperience setting up measurement programs and measuring the ongoing ROI of communications activitiesHighwire PerksCompetitive salaryMerit-based bonuses and promotionsHybrid work model to suit your schedule and lifestyleExcellent vacation policy including an extended break for summer and winter holidayParticipate in Empower Hours on Fridays; Team has the ability to log off by 3 pm401K MatchMedical and dental benefits/ FSAPaid Parental LeaveCommuter BenefitHome office equipment stipendGrowth Mindset Stipend of $100 annually for books, exhibitions, etc.Technology reimbursementWellness benefitDonation MatchFull-time writing CoachMentorshipMonthly recognition programsEmployee referral bonusNew business referral bonusQuarterly Highwire fun events – Thanksgiving is our favorite holidayDog-friendly work environmentExtremely supportive, nurturing environment with many opportunities for learning and growth$195,000 - $249,000 a year The anticipated salary range for this position is $195,000 - $249,000.
