About you and this roleDow Public Affairs has an exciting opportunity on its Corporate Communications team for a Corporate Media Relations Leader. In this dynamic role you will serve as the Public Affairs lead on several, diverse teams with the objective of supporting and protecting Dow’s brand and reputation and advancing our strategy. This position can be located at any Dow location in North America.

This is an individual contributor role and requires a solid understanding of Dow’s businesses, strategy and the chemical industry. A successful candidate will have strategic and critical thinking skills, strong writing skills, effective time management and prioritization skills, and the ability to collaborate with global and diverse business, functional and geographic teams.

Responsibilities

Serve as the corporate M&A communications lead responsible for the development and execution of communication strategies supporting portfolio activities including divestitures, acquisitions, shutdowns, and joint ventures.

Serve as the communications expert and focal point on cross-functional M&A teams providing strategic and tactical communication guidance and support throughout the M&A transaction process.

Proactively lead the development and execution of robust, multi-stakeholder communication strategies to effectively communicate to all internal and external stakeholders.

Lead the drafting, routing and approval of communication deliverables including press releases, key messages, Q&As, leader talking points, and more, aligning communication materials and messaging to stakeholder objectives.

Provide strategic communication counsel, execution and support for litigation-related issues and matters.

Serve as the Public Affairs focal point for all litigation matters and issues globally with close collaboration with the Legal (Litigation) team.

Lead proactive and reactive media management of litigation-related matters including drafting holding statements, engaging with reporters, and providing broader executive awareness.

Develop and execute communication strategies to drive and manage media relations for litigation matters helping maintain Dow’s brand and reputation.

Serve as the media relations focal point for crises and issues – on a global, regional and/or local level – through strategic partnership with the Dow Issues Management team.

Active team member in advising, developing, and implementing communication strategies and/or messaging for various crises and issues communication needs with a focus on media/external communications.

Lead the timely management of proactive and reactive media engagement and inquiries aligned to crises and issues.

Maintain ongoing awareness of key corporate issues and priorities, including media coverage and collaborate across the Dow team as appropriate.

Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.

A minimum of 6 years of relevant working experience, preferably in Public Affairs, Communications or Marketing Communications.

A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States or Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of permanent residency (green card) process.
