WHAT IS THE ROLE ABOUT?
As Marketing Manager, you’ll join a dynamic, collaborative team at the heart of the company, serving as the critical link between editorial, product, technology, and sales. In this role, you’ll leverage both your strategic vision and hands-on expertise to drive impactful initiatives that shape the VHL’s success and future growth.
WHY IS THIS EXCITING?
This role provides a unique opportunity to directly impact the language learning space through a wide range of projects across multiple marketing channels with high visibility. You'll collaborate closely with the Marketing Director and have the opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities by managing 1-2 marketing specialists, as well as positioning yourself at the forefront of innovative marketing strategies.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
Develop and execute impactful go-to-market strategies for all K-12 product lines, demonstrating a high level of market knowledge and leveraging all marketing channels, including print collateral, website, social platforms, email marketing, paid search, events, etc.
Manage the development of K-12 marketing print and online assets from design through production, using project plans and marketing automation tools to track and communicate progress.
Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Project Managers to create and execute strategic marketing plans in support of high-stakes K-12 state and district adoption opportunities, including the development of adoption-specific digital and print marketing assets.
Develop impactful campaigns leveraging federal and state funding initiatives to support the VHL educational community.
Use data analytics to track and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, making recommendations and adjusting campaign strategy and tactics as needed to optimize results.
Partner with the Director of Marketing on overall strategic planning and direction for the VHL brand.
Provide team leadership and day-to-day guidance to members of the team, while ensuring collaboration through communication, as well as brand consistency.
YOU MUST HAVE (MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)
Bachelor’s degree required.
7+ years of marketing experience, with 5+ years of direct K-12 marketing experience in education-technology, education publishing, or language learning required.
Strong marketing technology skills with in-depth knowledge of MarTech and CRM tools, such as Salesforce, Marketo, Pardot, Asana (or similar) required.
1+ year of people management experience required.
Extensive project management skills, including prior experience effectively managing short- and long-term projects and project budgets required.
Campaign management experience required, including both print and digital marketing components/channels.
Dynamic presentation skills, including presenting technical marketing information to non-technical audiences.
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, including copywriting skills required.
20% travel required.
IDEAL IF YOU HAVE or ARE (PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)
Prior experience with state adoptions preferred.
Prior experience in K-12 literacy or language learning publishing preferred.
Event management experience preferred.
LOCATION
In order to be considered, candidates must reside in one of the following region-specific states: Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Virginia, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, Vermont, and West Virginia. Our ideal candidate will reside in Massachusetts (MA) or Rhode Island (RI). Relocation is not available for this position.
