We are committed to supporting your success in both your professional and personal lives.Position Overview QinetiQ U.S. seeks a junior Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Analyst responsible for managing an integrated marketing communications and public affairs portfolio on behalf of a federal law enforcement organization within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The primary workstreams include developing multimedia projects and campaigns in coordination with program managers and technical subject matter experts; providing daily communications and public affairs guidance and support; and assisting building the team's marketing communications and external relations capacity.Responsibilities
Provide integrated marketing communications and public affairs support on an array of activities from building strategic communication plans and creating websites to executing event management and digital strategies.Support agency executive leadership on daily public affairs and integrated marketing communications programs.Build and maintain collaborative and strategic relationships with a variety of colleagues including QinetiQ teammates, subject matter experts and agency leadership.Quickly analyze, interpret and convey complex and technical mission-related language into clear, concise and accurate language.Identify, recommend and implement integrated marketing communications tactics and campaigns.Adapt and excel in a dynamic environment with an eye for capturing short- and long-term strategic goals.Identify opportunities to introduce QinetiQ solutions that address existing and anticipated client challenges.Required Qualifications Qualifications:Possess zero to three years of work experience and a bachelor's degree or higher.Previous experience in federal management consulting, homeland security, strategic communications, marketing, visual communications, or a related field.Experience in marketing and communications, to include drafting talking points and speeches for high-level government clients.Skills in graphics design, MS SharePoint, audio/visual, photography, and/or print/web design.Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced Headquarters environment supporting federal leaders.Ability to think critically and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.Smart, self-directed team player who can work both collaboratively and independently depending on the current needs of the client.Ready to collaborate with clients, teammates and other stakeholders and build respectful and positive relationships based on mutual trust.Ability to maintain a security clearance from the U.S. Government and to handle sensitive and complex subject matter with judgment and discretion.Candidates will be required to provide a writing sample.Preferred Qualifications What Sets You Apart:Interest in helping federal clients effectively communicate their objectives.Passion for public relations and subject matter expertise in integrated marketing communications.Company EEO Statement Accessibility/Accommodation: If because of a medical condition or disability you need a reasonable accommodation for any part of the employment process, please send an e-mail to staffing@us.QinetiQ.com or call (540) 658-2720 Opt. 4 and let us know the nature of your request and contact information.QinetiQ US is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
