JOB DESCRIPTION

The Big Ten Network is looking for a Coordinating Producer of Originals & Storytelling to join their team in Chicago, IL. The Coordinating Producer, Originals & Storytelling helps manage the storytelling content at B1G Network. You will work closely with the Vice President of Originals & Storytelling to ensure that B1G Network continues to produce short-form and long-form storytelling content at the highest level. The ideal Coordinating Producer can combine creativity, a deep and thorough knowledge of sports, a keen attention to detail, and leadership and motivational skills, all of which will combine to help our creative team create, achieve, and grow.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Macro Editorial Supervision of BTN’s Journey franchise, including green-lighting stories, advance show planning, providing notes and approval on features, coordinating with other departments, show logistics and staff scheduling, and managing music cues

Micro Editorial Supervision of 1-2 sports of BTN’s Crossover Series including providing notes on all rough cuts and managing/meeting deadlines

Macro Editorial Supervision of BTN’s Crossover Series including green-lighting stories, advance show planning, providing notes and approval on features, coordinating with our on-campus producers and content coordinators, show logistics and staff scheduling, and managing music cues

Lead production of Media Days Content Gathering including hiring camera crews, working with the Big Ten conference staff on interview schedules, arranging for transcription, and distributing transcribed logs

Supervise all necessary appearance, material, and location releases, drone usage permission, and footage licensing including tracking BTN’s NCAA footage usage, NFL footage usage, and HUDL footage usage

Potential to produce a B1G Story

Maintain and distribute the weekly cross-departmental Feature Update

Assist in managing direct reports and facilitate employee growth through feedback and guidance

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

10+ years of experience working as a content creator

3+ years in a supervisory role with direct reports

Mastery of video editing using Adobe Premiere, familiarity with LucidLink and high-end video equipment

Strong knowledge of sports and best practices for social media

Outstanding writing, communication, and interpersonal skills

Exceptional relationship builder, especially with our member schools and the Big Ten Conference

Strong work ethic

Self-motivated

Hyper attention to detail, especially with edit pacing and accuracy of graphics

Passion to be GREAT

Excel in building internal and external relationships and fostering a positive and productive work environment

College degree

A background of producing features and conducting interviews

Strong knowledge of Big Ten sports
