Description
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for a wide variety of marketing and communications projects that assist Pence Companies in meeting our overall goals. Often seen as an organizer and idea generator, this role touches several areas of marketing daily. Constantly working behind the scenes, the Marketing Coordinator brings ideas to life. The primary responsibilities of this position are to work with the Marketing Director to respond to proposal requests, manage project information, and assist with event planning and execution. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction/architecture/engineering, events, and content marketing. This role will also develop written content for advertising, newsletters, and other marketing materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following duties are representative of the job, but are not all inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.• Produce, research, edit, and finalize written content for proposals to help Pence Companies win new work.• Design project pursuits to win new work.• Support interview preparation for project pursuits.• Interview Subject Matter Experts when needed to produce proposals, advertising, resumes and other materials.• Manage the project closeout process to document and help promote the work we put in place.• Complete award submissions to grow brand exposure.• Support company-sponsored events including twice-yearly company meetings, holiday parties, trade shows, golf tournaments, and any other events that help support company goals.• Critically think through issues or problems, gather information, and recommend solutions.• Work effectively with a variety of internal teams across departments and in the field, and externally with architects, clients, and vendors.
Qualifications
The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the job but are not all inclusive.• Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, graphic design or associated disciplines.• 2-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, advertising, agency or other related roles required.• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, including experience in layout and design.• Strong writing abilities.• Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship building.• Excellent critical thinking skills that lead to solutions and decision making.• Can work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.• Experience and/or knowledge in construction preferred.• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Working Conditions
Normally works in a typical office environment but will occasionally be required to visit job sites where work is done outside in a construction environment. May be exposed to weather, dirt/dust, loud noise, and may be required to wear personal protective equipment. Must be able to work for long periods of time in front of a computer. Required to lift 25lbs regularly and 40lbs occasionally. Regular attendance is required to perform the job satisfactorily.
