Job Description:

The Senior Live Event Audio Visual Technician reports to and assists the Technical Director to spec, deliver, and execute events within the production department. Additionally they will professionally interact with clients, management and staff; maintain inventory and perform administrative duties.

Essential Job Functions:

This individual is an experienced technician and, as such, is expected to

  • Assist the Technical Director with the management of the technical staff and all aspects of live event support
  • Be the lead tech on meetings and presentations
  • Support sales staff with site survey’s, quotes and client relations
  • Insure that equipment meets ITA standards
  • Insure that we are up to speed on current technology
  • Maintain focus on customer satisfaction

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Professionally represent ITA at all times and in the following endeavors, as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling.
  • Manage other technicians as needed.
  • Select proper equipment to execute events.
  • Select and direct staff for show operations.
  • Perform site surveys as needed.
  • Assist with inventory processes.
  • Advise company on capital inventory purchases.
  • Support sales team in new business acquisition.
  • Maintain relationships with clients as needed.
  • Creation of quotations in accordance with ITA standards and expectations


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of current AV technology
  • 5 + years experience working with current audio and video equipment
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Comfort with both PC & MAC.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite.
  • Knowledge of current live event technologies.
  • Excellent technical skills with experience in sound, lighting and video components and their implementation.
  • Strong and effective communication skills.
  • Experience in managing crews.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Punctual, comfortable working with other core employees, willing to work sporadic evenings and weekends.
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentational skills.
  • Self-starting, interested in thinking ahead and about how systems can be improved.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality control while keeping the big picture in mind.
  • Ability to work under high pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform independently.
  • Capable of managing several projects simultaneously.
  • Curious, proactive and self-aware.
  • Ability to assess risk & foresee issues.
  • Ability to remain calm and productive in difficult situations, demonstrating good “people skills” and a sense of humor.
  • Ability to work extended hours with the possibility to include weekends and holidays as event schedules dictate.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and handle extensive standing, walking, and step-climbing.
  • High level of comfort at height.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles from a passenger car to a 26’ straight truck.
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to represent our company in all client meetings and communications.
  • Must be able to see, hear, feel, walk, stoop, and operate equipment

*Some travel may be required with this position.

A thorough background check, drug screen, and physical will be required.

Our candidate must present a professional and positive image, have proven customer service and communication skills and possess strong organizational and administrative skills. This position combines technical and customer service skills, so an outgoing personality, combined with technical abilities, a desire to please, and a professional, groomed appearance is a winning combination! All skill levels will receive consideration, but the ideal candidates would have strong live event experience and references. Reliable transportation is required.
