Salary: Depends on Qualifications Location : New Orleans, LA Job Type: Full-Time Staff Job Number: 202200366 Division: University Advancement Opening Date: 09/18/2024 FLSA: Exempt Description The Director of Advancement Communications is responsible for developing and executing compelling written and visual communications across print, website, email, and social media platforms. This position ensures cohesive, timely, and impactful messaging across University Advancement and oversees the execution of an integrated communications strategy necessary for the implementation of responsive, multi-channel communications for Loyola's fundraising. Strong organizational skills, careful attention to detail, knowledge of the University, understanding of the mission of University, a firm commitment to discretion and donor privacy, and professional conduct are a must. Examples of Duties - Develops and directs annual and long-range strategic multi-channel communications plans in agreement with the Directors of Development, Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement and in alignment with university messaging and branding, to support University Advancement's work to strengthen Loyola's culture of philanthropy, engagement and volunteerism. - Works closely Manages campaign communications, including branding, print communications, web communications, social media, etc. - Develops and executes advancement communications strategy, with particular focus on giving-society-level and other major donors. - Strategizes and Coordinates LOYNO Magazine from start to finish. - Works with Annual Giving on all communication and fundraising efforts for Loyola Loyal Day and other major appeals. - Coordinates content and printing of the Annual Impact Report. - Works closely with the University Marketing department on the creation or approval of all UA marketing materials. - Leads on the design and development process of all Advancement print pieces including invitations, programs, brochures, etc. Department Management Duties: - Manages the positions of Communications Specialist - Manage the budget, goals and performance - Other duties as assigned. Typical Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is required; a graduate degree will enhance a candidate's consideration. - Minimum of 4 years progressive related experience in, Marketing, Communications or Advertising/Promotions related fields required, with administrative and project management or coordination included as part of experience. - The ability to work effectively and efficiently in a service and relationship oriented, fast- paced environment coordinating with multiple departments and teams that require creative thinking and problem-solving skills to manage project objectives and deadlines. - Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. - Excellent computer skills required including, advanced Microsoft Office and Google Suite skills, preferably utilizing fundraising database software such as Raiser's Edge. - Attention to detail; ability to coordinate multiple assignments, set priorities, and work with a minimum of supervision. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work effectively and follow through in interactions with a wide variety of people, including students, faculty, staff, donors, and alumni. Professional appearance, attire, and demeanor will be essential to the successful work in this position. - Demonstrated sound judgment in situations requiring independent decision-making and in handling confidential and sensitive material. - Knowledge of and professional commitment to the educational mission of the university and the Society of Jesus. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with social and other new media preferred.
