The AV Facility Technician will provide on-premises audio visual and meeting support for an established multi-channel retailer company. This role is responsible for:
- Setting up and breaking down meeting and conference spaces to meet the customers event needs;
- performing preventative maintenance tasks to help maintain customer spaces; and
- providing meeting assistance upon request for conference room or AV space to ensure requestor is able to use the equipment in-room.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
The AV Facility Technician will provide on-premises audio visual and meeting support for an established multi-channel retailer company. This role is responsible for:
- Setting up and breaking down meeting and conference spaces to meet the customers event needs;
- performing preventative maintenance tasks to help maintain customer spaces; and
- providing meeting assistance upon request for conference room or AV space to ensure requestor is able to use the equipment in-room.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate room sweeps and walk-throughs of all spaces and test of basic functions.
- Maintain records of all pass/fail status and tickets and ensure resolution of any problems found.
- Support meeting room setups and ensure end users are able to use the equipment in-room including monitors, video conferencing, in-room cameras, microphones, and neat boards.
- Facilitate troubleshooting and repair needs including cable replacements, power-cycles, and validation that components are working as well as more complex needs such as AV component configurations and part replacements.
- Build and maintain an inventory of all AV equipment for assigned locations.
- Monitor conference room health and make recommendations for ongoing failures that may indicate a need for replacement or upgrades.
- Maintain facility documentation and SOPs.
- Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with team members to ensure alignment on procedures, scheduling, and briefs as required.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-have skills & job qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in the area of audiovisual support, integration, meetings and events, or another similar field.
- Audiovisual troubleshooting knowledge.
- Intermediate PC troubleshooting knowledge.
- Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video, and control.
- Ability to perform routine testing and problem diagnosis for audio visual technologies.
- Ability to read and utilize blueprints and audio / video flow diagrams.
- Knowledge of network troubleshooting to diagnose static and dynamic IP addresses.
- Effectively communicate with employees, customers, and colleagues.
- Ability to maintain composure and a positive attitude during high pressure situations.
- Strong work ethic, self-direction, self-motivation, patience, persistence, and perspective.
- Excellent collaboration and customer relationship skills with the understanding of the importance of white glove service.
- Ability to work and think independently and meet deadlines.
- Flexible to work after hours and weekends when required.
Nice-to-have skills
- Studio production and event experience.
- Experience with control room equipment including video switchers, audio consoles, robotic cameras, and video playback software.
- Experience with Extron systems.
- Certification and training with CTS, Networking, and other Audio-Video training.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Travel is required based on requirements and location of productions and service needs including meetings at client offices and AVI-SPL offices.
- Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and perform overhead work.
