Purpose and Scope:

This position aims to perform the full range of Communication and Brand Manager duties and responsibilities. The incumbent of this position is expected to perform at a level considered to be senior in the content marketing field, setting the strategic and operational direction for the brand content function at our company in dialogue with our broader growth organization.


Overview:

We are seeking a Communication and Brand Manager to join our team. The Communication and Brand Manager will be an experienced writer to lead technical storytelling for our organization across all our brand touchpoints and content formats. This position will be at the core of our marketing strategy, creating meaningful case studies, impactful website copy, and bringing consistency to our voice as we build trust with government customers, job candidates, and potential teaming partners. The Communication and Brand Manager will provide vision and strategies while collaborating with other consultants, and business and technical subject matter experts in determining the news or media channels for regular publication. Our growth organization is centered on a strong business development process, and we’re looking to support that process with thoughtful content creation and curation.


Familiarity with government contracting and software development are a must. The rest is flexible for the right candidate: we need someone who understands the business, with enough familiarity with the technical aspects of software development to be a convincing spokesperson for the brand.


Responsibilities:

  • Communication Strategy: Create comprehensive communication plans and content roadmaps that align with our business goals and objectives, targeting potential customers, partners, and employees across various verticals.
  • Project Management: Manage schedule, resources and cost for communication and branding projects such as Website Redesign, and Marketing Campaigns to customers, partners or recruits. Manage relationship and partnership with GovCon media and social networks.
  • Content Creation and Management: Take ownership of the content roadmap, work directly with our technical experts to craft compelling stories, and develop an overall content marketing strategy to drive engagement and growth. Develop high-quality technical content, including blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, press releases, and multimedia assets that resonate with our target audience.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all marketing materials and channels. We’re not looking for high fidelity graphic design, but facility applying brand guidelines to documents like case studies or PowerPoint presentations will be critical.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of communication activities, using metrics and KPIs to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities. This is a longer-term need.
Requirements:

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in Technical Writing, Marketing, Journalism, or similar domain. Experience writing about software development is required. Experience with government contracting is strongly preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills. We need someone with vision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. You should be able to talk and write conversationally about the technical and operational nuances of software delivery.
  • Strong sense of ownership. We’re looking for someone who can help drive this effort forward with clarity and follow-through.
  • Familiarity with branding and design. You won’t have to do graphic design yourself, but you need to be able to create beautiful documents, form persuasive opinions about graphics, and enforce brand standards.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (SEO, SEM, Google Analytics, social media management, email marketing) is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data and derive actionable insights.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

Working Environment:

eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by manager

Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 25% per year.
