Position Summary:
- North Greenville University seeks a qualified individual for a Faculty Position in Communication Arts. He/She will cultivate and equip students to serve as transformational leaders for church and society.
- Rank assignment will be commensurate with education/experience. This position includes a competitive salary and benefit package.
- Candidates must have a Christian commitment and the ability to integrate the Christian faith with traditional coursework.
- The position will begin August, 2024; January, 2025; or August, 2025.

- Oral Communication
- Small Group Communication
- Interpersonal Communication
- Cross-Cultural Communication
- Communication Strategies
- Student advising
- Committee assignments
- Other responsibilities assigned by the Associate Dean
Physical Requirements:
- Hearing: Hear well enough to interact successfully with students and colleagues.
- Mobility: Teach classes, move between departments, and attend meetings across campus.
- Talking: Teaching classes and private lessons.
- Cognitive/Emotional: Ability to critically think and concentrate.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- This position is a full-time position in the School of Communication and reports to the Associate Dean of the School.
WORK SCHEDULE
- The general university schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. However, this may change due to course schedules, scheduled meetings, etc. Occasional work on Saturdays and evenings may be required for recruiting, advising, etc. This is a nine-month appointment.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in communication or related field is required.
- Preference will be given to applicants holding an earned terminal degree in communication or related field.
- ABD candidates will be considered.
- Effective teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach a wide variety of communication classes, including core communication courses.
- Evidence of scholarly potential
- A passion for teaching
- Supports NGU's mission statement and core values, commitment to a Christian lifestyle, and character in keeping with a biblical model.
