Our Lady Queen of the Americas Parish in Washington DC is hiring a Communication and Evangelization Coordinator.
This role will assist the Pastor and staff in the growth and management of parish ministries.
The goal is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ through the promotion of community communications, engagement, and formation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate proactively with staff members and parish ministry leaders to obtain information and stay current on upcoming events, scheduled livestreams, and ministry news
  • Schedule parish print and digital communications
  • Provide text editing and graphics support for event promotion
  • Regularly update parish website for upcoming parish and Archdiocesan liturgies, parish news and events, livestreams, and online ministry features
  • Interface with website hosting company on parish website maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancements
  • Regularly promote and share liturgies, events, livestreams, news announcements, and other content on parish social media accounts
  • Monitor and manage all aspects of parish bulletin, Flocknotes, and social media accounts
  • Oversee parish Young Adult social media accounts and digital communications
  • Produce weekly event listings (print, in English & Spanish) and seasonal liturgy schedules.
  • Prepare (in English) and coordinate printing (in English and Spanish) and mailing of Advent and Lenten brochures
  • Implement and promote Archdiocesan initiatives across channels such as Annual Wedding Mass registration, Pascua Juvenil, Implementation of the National Plan for Hispanic Ministry, ACLA, Walk with Mary
  • Monitor and respond daily to parish email account inquiries
  • Plan, develop, and implement all aspects of a balanced youth ministry in the areas of group building, worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach
  • Coordinate youth gatherings for both Middle and High School programs, provide periodic Service Work Camp, Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter Retreats, and Parent Meetings
  • Coordinate the recruitment training, and evaluating of volunteers
  • Coordinate the outreach to and evangelize of all young people in the parish
  • Work with Director of Religious Education to form cohesive youth outreach and formation
  • Understand, accept, and implement the vision statement of the parish
  • Provide support, opportunities for networking, and resource ideas for parish staff and volunteer leaders working in youth ministry
  • Consult with pastors to develop and/or sustaining effective ministry to youth and young adults in parochial settings
  • Plan and provide training opportunities for Young Adult Leaders
  • Coordinate Quinceaera retreats (2 per year)
  • Coordinate parish retreats and other evangelizations events for adults
  • Perform other related duties as needed

Requirements
  • Must be practicing Catholic with a strong belief in the teachings of the Catholic Church and have the ability to articulate this to various audiences.
  • Experience in social media management
  • Experience in website content management
  • Experience in digital newsletter creation / email marketing
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent planning and time management skills and ability to collaborate in small-team environment
  • Flexibility, as needed, to monitor and update communications after hours and on
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish
  • Experience in design and graphics (currently used app is Canva Pro)
  • Presence at Sunday Parish Mass

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
