Note: Candidates need to have experience in Content Management Systems, preferrably Adobe Experience Management (AEM).
The Senior Web Content Strategist

Job Description
- Lead the development of website copy for your segments that reflects client’s brand, tone of voice and position in the market while following our web content guidelines
- Collect input from multiple sources and usher content through the review process with business stakeholders to ensure timely web delivery
- Apply design thinking and UX principles to page authoring and initiate intake discussions for net-new components and component enhancements with the Experience Design team
- Produce and review content that meets ADA compliance guidelines and support efforts to ensure accessibility
- Uphold an enterprise content governance model and editorial publishing process by consistently providing clear and actionable edits to your peers to ensure content is up-to-date, relevant, valuable to our business segments, and produced in a timely manner
- Lead the analysis of content performance for your segments by continuously monitoring KPIs through Customer Journey Analytics, customizing dashboards, and identifying gaps
- Drive organic traffic and engagement optimization for your segments by implementing SEO best practices into content creation and working with SEO resources to iterate on SEO strategy
Hiring Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism or equivalent
- 7 – 10 years of experience in content strategy, marketing, editorial, or website platform ownership
- Experience writing content for regulated industries with both B2B and B2C audiences
- Web content management system platform experience
- Experience or certifications in W3C and ADA compliance guidelines, SEO best practices, design thinking, and basic UX principles
- A portfolio of samples or case studies to show what content challenges you’ve tackled in your career thus far
- Initiative and the ability to self-start and self-lead
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in digital storytelling, human-computer interaction, or related fields
- Adobe suite experience with deep AEM platform expertise
- A transformational, digital-first mindset
- Experience writing content for regulated industries with both B2B and B2C audiences
- 2+ years of authoring experience in AEM
- Experience with JIRA
Job Profile Summary: The Web Content Author
- is primarily responsible for entering, updating, reviewing and publishing content to the client’s public website.
Job Specifics
- Create website pages leveraging components in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) based on existing designs and wireframes
- Collaborate with the website team to help manage creative assets for these pages in the DAM (Digital Asset Manager)
- Uphold the content governance model as well as the editorial publishing process to ensure content is up to date, relevant, and of value to our business segments and their prospects and customers
- Collaborate and partner with writers and the broader website and marketing teams to ensure a consistent tone of voice and messaging for the web channel
Educational/Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience authoring content for enterprise websites
- Familiarity with W3C and ADA compliance guidelines
- 5+ years of experience in related field.
- In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.
Job Duties:
- Provides editorial content and strategic recommendations for projects while ensuring consistency with content standards and best practices.
- Develops innovative solutions for content presentation, including working with content management requirements such as workflow and categorization.
- May perform content audits, gap analysis, metadata frameworks, content style guides, and content migration plans.
- Performs the end-to-end content creation and delivery process, from collecting input from multiple sources to delivery of content for Web-ready approval by business stakeholders.
- Writes and edits content including development of naming conventions, instructional copy and other interface textual elements.
- Ensures proactive content governance and maintenance processes, to ensure consistency, timeliness, accuracy and relevance. Functions as an avid editor of all BCBSNC Web content.
- Assists with establishing style guide and editorial procedures for all written elements of the public Web site and ensures all content elements are followed.
- Serve as a “systems integrator” for effective content strategies by actively engaging WO team members, marketing, corporate communications, business owners and subject matter experts.
- Constantly reviews Web site content and provides editorial updates and comments as necessary to remain aligned with evolving Web and enterprise standards.
- Performs competitive site reviews that benchmark content breadth, organization and presentation.
