Content Tutor Job Description
Purpose:
Content Tutors for the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes serve as an integral part of our students' learning process. Our tutors help students from diverse backgrounds to develop academic confidence with structured support and guidance throughout the semester. In order to aid student development and learning, content tutors focus on specific course material and conduct tutorial assistance in a way that caters towards Student-Athletes' learning styles. Content tutors have the ability to work in one-on-one sessions as well as in group sessions and are trained in the "Constructivist Teaching Model" to help guide students through each session.

Goals:
- Challenge the Student-Athletes' thinking, views and attitudes toward learning
- Advocate for and enforce academic integrity
- Assist student learning in content specific courses while helping to develop good study skills
Responsibilities:
- Monitor Student-Athlete progress through communication with students and advisors
- Help the student to develop better time management, critical thinking and organization
- foster an understanding of learning and motivation and help to clarify course material
- Maintain confidentiality when working with Student-Athletes
- Complete all reports and other tasks in a timely and effective manner
- Attend all training sessions (including Beginning and Mid-Semester Compliance Trainings and monthly CRLA Trainings)
- Maintain consistent communication with Advisors and Learning Specialist
- Set a good example for the Student-Athlete! Be on time, be responsible and be a good role model
