In this role, you will join our Learning Design Center of Excellence to elevate our internal learning offerings and articulate and radiate their perspective on best-practice learning design within the organization. We’re looking for candidates with deep expertise in instructional design – along with core professional skills in communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. Your primary responsibility will be to design end-to-end learning journeys that build the capabilities of our internal colleagues. Learning products within those journeys may include in-person programs, virtual live offerings, on-demand digital learning, externally curated courseware, on-the-job support tools, and other innovative products. In this role, you will report to our Global Head of Learning Design and work closely with our Product, Delivery and Technology teams to ensure our learning solutions are impactful, effective, and engaging. You will build a deep understanding of our audiences via learner needs analysis, determine the learning products that provide the best fit for a variety of objectives, and continuously grow the portfolio of learning products available at the firm. This is a hybrid role that requires 3 days per week in the office. There is no option to be fully remote. Responsibilities: Instructional Design and Development: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of a wide range of learning interventions, including e-learning courses, blended learning programs, virtual instructor-led training (VILT), microlearning modules, and other digital learning assets. Apply instructional design principles and adult learning theory to create effective and engaging learning experiences that promote knowledge retention and skill development. Ensure the learning content is aligned with established learning objectives, learning outcomes, and assessment criteria. Continuously build a perspective on adult learning at Oliver Wyman and syndicate new thinking within the L&D team. Visual Design and User Experience: Collaborate with the visual design team to create visually appealing and user-friendly learning materials, incorporating multimedia elements, infographics, and interactive components. Establish and maintain design standards and guidelines for the L&D Department, ensuring a consistent and cohesive visual identity across all learning materials. Conduct regular reviews and quality assurance checks on design deliverables to ensure they meet the highest standards of aesthetics, usability, and accessibility. Technology and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the field of learning and development, instructional design, and design tools/software. Explore and recommend innovative approaches, tools, and platforms to enhance the learning experience and improve learning outcomes. Collaborate with IT and Learning technology teams to leverage technology and learning management systems (LMS) for effective content delivery and tracking. Evaluation and Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement evaluation strategies to assess the effectiveness and impact of learning programs and materials. Optimally balance effectiveness, velocity, development cost, and technology debt of learning solutions Analyze learner feedback, performance data, and key metrics to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for design enhancements. Continuously monitor industry best practices and benchmark against other organizations to ensure the L&D Department remains at the forefront of learning design excellence. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, education, organizational development, instructional design, human resources, finance, or a related field; or equivalent experience. 5-10 years of experience in learning and development roles or in designer roles in other business functions. Proven experience translating product vision and blueprints to effective learning solutions; preferably applying agile methods Excellent problem-solving skills demonstrated with a variety of stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams. Strong leadership skills including coaching and providing feedback, managing stakeholders, and driving teams to impact. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Experience with and passion for technology-enabled learning solutions, including LMS, LXP, and authoring tools. Passion for learning and development, and a deep understanding of current trends and innovations in this profession. Passion for applying generative AI and emerging technologies to improve impact of learning solutions Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in an agile development environment is a plus. Experience in professional services industry is a plus.
