Marketing Design Specialist
REPORTS TO: Director of Development FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE: Full Time, Hybrid, Occasional evening or weekend work
POSITION SUMMARY: The Marketing Design Specialist will be responsible for designing engaging visual content, managing our website, and executing social media strategies to support our mission. You should be highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva Pro, with experience in WordPress and a knack for digital design, content management, and social media engagement.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Graphic Design & Content Creation
- Develop visually compelling content for digital and print media, including infographics, social media graphics, email campaigns, newsletters, and event materials.
- Create engaging visual assets using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva Pro.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure content aligns with brand standards and nonprofit mission.
- Website Maintenance & Management
- Manage and update the organization’s WordPress website, including creating new pages, updating content, and optimizing for user experience.
- Ensure the website is well-maintained, responsive, and accessible, addressing issues as they arise.
- Coordinate with IT support to troubleshoot technical issues and oversee periodic updates.
- Social Media Management
- Plan, create, and manage social media content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow our online presence, engage followers, and drive community interaction.
- Track and analyze performance metrics to adjust strategies and optimize engagement.
- Brand Consistency & Strategic Support
- Ensure brand consistency in all digital content and communications.
- Assist in the development of marketing strategies to support campaigns, events, and general outreach.
- Stay updated with design trends, digital marketing best practices, and new social media features to keep our efforts fresh and relevant.
- All other duties as assigned.
BACKGROUND/ EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or related field and/or equivalent professional experience in digital marketing and design will also be considered.
- One (1)-3 years minimum experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva Pro, with a strong portfolio of previous design work.
- Proficiency in WordPress, with experience in basic HTML/CSS and website management.
- Experience in managing and growing social media platforms, with strong knowledge of trends and platform-specific best practices.
- Prior experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization is a plus.

The employee may be required to exert 21 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 11 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Job duties also require about 6 or more hours of intermittent standing or walking in an 8-hour workday. Sitting may be required only intermittently and occasionally. Stooping is required occasionally.
Environmental Conditions:
The employee will work indoors in an office setting with central heating and air conditioning. The building is open and ventilated well with central heating and air conditioning. The person may possibly work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions during times of community activities for clients.
Mental Demands:
There are several daily deadlines associated with this position, which may cause significant levels of stress for some individuals. The position must deal with the clients at times and with staff on a variety of issues.
Work Expectations:
- Minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Must be able to work well with staff and clients.
- Some travel required.
