Job Overview:
The Sr. Manager of Brand Communication and Public Relations will play a vital role in advancing the company's brand within the Americas, contributing to the company's mission to drive sustainable and connected mobility solutions. This position will lead brand communication and PR activities, including digital marketing and crisis management, while managing a small team. The Sr. Manager will collaborate across departments, ensuring consistent brand messaging and engaging various stakeholders to strengthen the brand's market presence.
Key Responsibilities:Brand & Marketing Communication:Oversee regional marketing communications, including digital and PR content creation.Coordinate brand messaging across North and South American markets, aligning with company standards.
Public Relations & External Communication:Develop and distribute press releases, reactive statements, and interview materials.Cultivate relationships with journalists, associations, NGOs, and key external partners.Localize global communication for the Americas, covering OEM approvals and sustainability topics.
Digital Marketing:Direct social media strategy in alignment with Continental's global framework.Manage online brand presence and assess performance across regional markets.
Internal Communication:Plan and execute internal communication initiatives, including newsletters and all-employee meetings.Lead communications for Americas Tires projects, events, and cross-functional initiatives.
Crisis & Issue Management:Develop crisis communication plans, overseeing messaging on compliance and legal issues.Liaise with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure clear and accurate communication.
Executive Communications Support:Provide direct counsel to executives regarding public relations and internal communications.Create strategic communication plans that support executive initiatives.
Leadership & Team Management:Lead, coach, and develop a team of brand communication professionals.Manage communication budgets and serve as the primary contact for regional PR and marketing communication.
Requirements Include:Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field; Master's preferred.Experience:
10+ years in marketing, with 5+ years in consumer marketing/communications.3+ years of hands-on experience in sponsorship, branding, social media, and digital communication.Experience in international or matrixed organizations, and large corporate environments.3+ years leading teams in marketing/communication functions.
Skills:
Strong project management skills and ability to manage budgets effectively.Proficiency in digital marketing, content creation, and brand management.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
Certifications:
Not required, but advanced project management and communications certifications are advantageous.Knowledge:
Understanding of global and local brand communication strategies.Familiarity with automotive or manufacturing industries is preferred.Strong grasp of social media strategy and digital communication trends.
Key Competencies:
Strategic mindset with the ability to manage both internal and external communications effectively.Exceptional team management and mentoring skills.Data-driven with strong analytical abilities to assess marketing effectiveness.
