What you get to do:As the Advertising Marketing Manager, you will support SeaWorld San Diego and Sesame Place San Diego, execute programs that span across all facets of marketing and collaborate closely with other park departments, as well as our corporate partners. You will:
In partnership with the VP of Marketing, lead in developing and executing advertising and campaign strategy with agency and in-house creative partners.
Ensure communication of park experience, special events, and retail offers are aligned and being delivered to the right audiences at the right time.
Provide direction on agency recommended media buys. Work with Promotions Manager to leverage buys and negotiate added value with media partners.
Provide insights and trends for marketing programs to improve performance.
Be responsible for ensuring all consumer event details are communicated to all marketing disciplines for a consistent consumer facing communication approach (web, email, social, etc.).
Serve as a key player in the annual marketing planning process as well as in new capital marketing strategy development, including potential partnerships, promotional extensions, and creative input.
Oversee parks event email marketing communications plan in collaboration with the corporate email team - focusing on revenue drivers, ongoing list growth, and maintenance. Pass-related e-mails will remain the responsibility of the Pass Team.
Oversee website content, keeping messaging current.
Help direct content creators to ensure they are collecting/producing assets for web, email needs
Support the Promotions & Partnership team execute media partner revenue-share exclusive events.
Oversee the parks email marketing communications plan in collaboration with the corporate email team - focusing on sales and email acquisition.
Drive elevated, visual excellence for the brand in all executions and platforms. Work with in-house creative team to execute campaigns supporting marketing campaigns.
Liaison with PR team to fulfill media and influencer visits to the park.
Oversee website content, keeping messaging current.
Manage planning for photo and video shoots in collaboration with content team.
Support Marketing Vice President as needed for additional projects, including annual planning.
In addition:
Collaborate with the corporate creative team creating briefs, providing feedback and managing timelines for all creative needs surrounding park initiatives.
Review/approve creative (events, attractions, dining, promotions, etc.) prior to VP and Park President final approval.
Serve as a day-to-day contact for external media agencies and advertising vendors to ensure flawless execution of advertising campaigns.
Act as liaison between corporate, agencies and the parks for commercial/advertising shoots.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What it takes to succeed:
Must have a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or a related communications, tourism or hospitality field.
Must have at least 3-5 years of experience in marketing strategic planning, promotions, and direct marketing (email, retail promotions, media messaging, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to execute marketing core competencies (branding, strategy, creative discernment, analysis, customer segmentation, technology/digital).
Strong written/verbal communication skills; able to read, write and speak English.
Demonstrated ability to manage work across disciplines and teams, with blurred lines of responsibility, and deliver projects on time and on budget.
Must be able to multitask and work in a demanding, fast paced environment.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Must be available to work varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include nights, weekends and holidays.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Compensation: $80,000- $95,000
