This role is for an exceptional writer with a passion for how storytelling and messaging fits into the big picture strategy of marketing campaigns. You'll work within the Creative Services Team and alongside the Marketing and Communications team to translate strategic industry goals and objectives into bold, engaging and persuasive marketing copy. As an experienced Marketing Copywriter, you will enhance our brand voice and tone and advance our messaging platform for internal and external audiences across multiple channels. You will work closely with the Director of Creative Services and the Director of Communications to align messaging with the JobsOhio mission and vision. The ideal candidate will be adept at building strong, positive relationships with internal and external teams while holding both to clear standards. Passion for all things Ohio is a plus.This is a hands-on role requiring demonstrated skill in writing marketing copy and content as well as copyediting.

We will request a portfolio with examples of your writing, including short and longform samples, advertising copy, fully executed campaigns, etc.Duties and ResponsibilitiesServe as the lead marketing writer on 360 marketing campaigns, working cross-functionally with Creative, Communications and Marketing teams to execute against brand objectives.Write engaging and high-converting marketing copy across all mediums, including, but not limited to: paid media for digital and print ads, social media, blogs, emails, web pages/newsletters, marketing collateral, print brochures, events, video scripts, podcast copy, and moreWork within and expand/elevate our brand voice and toneCollaborate with other creatives to ensure copy and design elements of content are cohesiveImplement messaging best practices for flow, storytelling, grammar, punctuationSupport crafting targeted campaigns for B2B and B2C endeavorsGenerate ideas for new ways to leverage written communications for marketingManage challenging situations and multiple stakeholders to streamline messagingCapable of critical thinking, with a strong eye for detailBe a proactive and cooperative team member who can also work independentlyReview and edit copy from internal and external teamsDevelop strategic storytelling concepts that will connect with target audiences and desired objectivesOptimize content according to SEO best practicesKeep up-to-date with industry trends and the competitive landscape.Qualifications

Experience Requirements3-5 years of copywriting experience, preferably in a business and/or economic development setting, supporting various industriesExcellent written, verbal, and overall interpersonal communication skillsImpeccable grammar, punctuation, and spellingExperience writing and developing stories for marketingStrong cross-functional team relationship managementAbility to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent time management and organizational skills with an ability to prioritize projects with highest impactStrong attention to detail and critical thinkingEngaged, flexible, motivated, and success-drivenResourceful attitude and the ability to motivate self and team to deliver quality productsProficient in Excel, PowerPoint, WordKnowledge of video/ creative process is a bonusEducation RequirementsBachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or equivalent experienceJobsOhio is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
