Technical Writer needed for our government client in Downtown Baltimore. The Technical Writer will assist in collecting and organizing information for preparation of user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals and reports. One year contract position. The non-negotiable pay rate is $40.00 per hour.
Essential Duties:
Assist in collecting and organizing information for preparation of user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals and reports.Edit functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, special reports or other customer deliverables and documents.Conduct research and ensure the use of proper technical terminology, translate technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.Use the standard help compiler to prepare all on-line documentation for applications built to run in a Windows environment.Assist in performing financial and administration functions.Update procurement templates to ensure the documents are current.Draft and share forms, documents and materials.Assist with development on-boarding training and procurement policy and procedure manuals, desk procedures and internal process documents.Proofread written procurement documents before distribution.Qualifications:
At least four years of technical writing work experience is required.Must have strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce quality results under strict time constraints.Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access skills.Must be able to work on site from 8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday through Friday with a 1 hour non paid lunch. All work is performed onsite at the client location.Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
