Description
GAI is seeking Distribution Assistant Designer Manager for distribution-related work. This position will perform distribution design, technical guidance/mentoring/supervising of staff, design reviews, and implementation of all aspects relating to distribution design services. The successful candidate will manage a team of CAD Operators/Designers as well as work on various distribution design projects. The successful candidate will have the ability to work at a GAI office, hybrid or fully remote. Thrive in GAI's corporate culture that empowers employee advancement with support for career and professional development and engages with staff to build mutual trust and respect and consideration for diverse perspectives, people, experiences, and ideas.Job Duties:Manage, design, and perform QA/QC checks related to technical activities including, but not limited to, the following:Manage, train, and mentor CAD Operators/designers to develop high quality project deliverables.Responsible for the oversite of all CAD Design related discussions as well as coordination with other disciplines CAD leads.Perform QA/QC reviews on drawing packages including 2D drawing sets for adherence to client standards.Document QA/QC reviews, maintain record documents, and communicate information to the team.Develop and/or revise 2D drawingsPerform and manage 2D model creation in accordance with client workflows & standards.Utilize and manage others in the usage of file management software in accordance with client workflows and standards.Develop design specifications including the overall bill of materials.Travel to other offices meet with clients and attend project specific meetings on an as needed basis.Manage tasks on assigned projects in accordance with GAI's high standards of project management.Manage and assist with the development of scope of services and cost estimates for substation projects.Ability to manage competing priorities using sound engineering and financial judgment to determine optimal solutions.Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and/or DDS.Must be flexible to handle shifting deadlines and scope changes.Must have resource management skills and ability to identify project barriers and mitigate them without schedule impacts.
