Job Description
In a dynamic R&D with a flattened structure, the incumbent is an internal resource person and a technical point of contact within Olympus. The incumbent advises employees working in mechanical product development and remains on the lookout for new technologies relevant to our current and future developments, in connection with the test and measurement market. The incumbent contributes to external communications through scientific presentations, the writing of patents or the management of subcontractors.The incumbent works in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a state-of-the-art environment.
Job Duties
Specific Responsibilities
Organizational Development
Develop the mechanical engineering innovation strategy based on the overall non-destructive testing strategy and propose research topics (TRP/TDP);
Provide technical leadership for collaborative projects with other partners and academic research centers;
Ensure cohesion between the company's strategic plan and the design of ongoing projects;
Develop cutting-edge technologies and methods that are relevant to our product developments;
Contribute to the generation of intellectual property;
Ensure the protection of our intellectual property in collaboration with intellectual property specialists;
Job Requirements
Technical skills:
Master's degree in mechanical engineering;
Ph.D. is an asset;
10-15 years of R&D experience or equivalent;
Demonstrated mechanical systems analysis skills;
Significant experience in functional specification development and product validation;
Have a good knowledge of the practices and trends of his/her organization;
Have made technical presentations or publications;
Have made a significant contribution to the development of a new technology and its integration into a commercially successful product;
