Media Technician
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the routine and custom preparation of plant tissue culture media and the
maintenance of a clean and highly functioning Media Lab. This position requires the ability to work with
chemical products while following appropriate safety rules in a laboratory setting.
Essential Functions: •Preparation and sterilization of production and stock culture media •Execute against production plan by following SOP's •Interpret and follow all chemical SDS sheets •Proper labeling, storage and disposal of solutions and media •Accurate documentation of all solutions and media prepared •Maintenance and verification of equipment used for media production •Managing time and tasks efficiently while maintaining excellent quality of work •Data capture for KPI's, inventory management and data •Maintain clean, sterile equipment and facility •Properly operate chemical safety equipment
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies: Detail oriented, multitasking capability, self-motivated, organized, problem-solving skills,
team player, time management
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education and Experience: College degree with classes in plant science and chemistry. OLCC Marijuana
Worker Permit (if state required). Prior plant media production experience is highly preferred.
Computer Skills: Proficient with data entry and computer applications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The position may require the employee to work with chemical and biological agents that may be
hazardous to health if mishandled. Lift/Carry 20-30 lbs.

Requirements: Must wear PPE including but not limited to lab coat, gloves, eye protection, and face mask.
